I don't think it's Roman saying that. I think he's going to spend a lot of money in the off season but he doesn't want to spend the money on the players AVB would want if he's not convinced he's going to be there long term.

I mean if he did that then he would have to go through the same exercise all over again for a new coach who wants there players for there system.

I also think Roman believes the team needs players but should still be able to get in the top 4 comfortably in this weakened EPL, and I believe he's right. I mean the team isn't good enough to win trophies but they do have the talent for the top 4 especially when Arsenal have been playing with reserves pretty much the whole season.

No to mention AVB can't beat anyone right now.

I think it is a bad move. Chelsea is run by the players and this just proves it. No manager could have done anything with this old squad. AVB will move on to another club and if he is given the time and the freedom, he will prove he is a great manager.

i cant say i dont feel for Chelsea fans but i cant say i didnt welcome the news as well
