'Keite!' : Seydou Keita

This is one of my favourite goals of the team actually.



I think he's a pretty underrated player actually, would stand out a lot more if he wasn't at Barca. Its just annoying that Pep seems to make it his personal mission to show everyone that Keita isn't an ordinary player.

Like Alves, has the knack to score few but great goals here and there.







What did I do?

Jiopsi, do you make all these urself? Why not just use youtube? I dont get the attraction of gifs, they just lag my computer

Yeah, I do them myself. I just think it's better medium for couple second clips. Longer clips you have to do with video.

Youtube videos gets deleted constantly because of the media rights etc.

Do you use zoom, or is your computer that old that it lags?

I dont think anyone would ever have a bad word to say about Keita, if not for the fact he is played nearly twice as often as he should be.

That aside, he is a very useful player and still the best pressing midfielder. Knack for goals too.

Still think this is his last season with us though.

He gets a lot of undeserved flak.
Has been a good player for us and a great professional.And I loved his celebration after the goal.Could tell how much it meant to him.

Yeah, i was always neutral to him, though i wanted Thiago to play a bit more than him. I also said we are lucky to have a sub like him. But i guess he will go next summer?!

Gets a lot of flak from all of us obviously...because he does play much more than he should, but in the end I must say, he's a fantastic professional and a great person it seems, and he's someone who I'm proud is representing Barcelona. Never in the media, just does his talking on the field and seems to love everyone and everyone loves him. Not a bad player at all either, just played too much

Great to see hes finally getting the praise deserved, and not the "KEITA?! Why is he in the starting lineup" comments, etc

Anyway, it could well be the last season Hopefully only when we are sure we have good enough DM that we let him go though.

Useless against Milan. Pep Keita's love cost a team. Iniesta on the wing, Keita in midfield and Thiago, Cesc on the bench Useless Keita got yellow card, time to sub him? Nope, Iniesta out, humble Malian stays. Milan have a big chance to go through after 1-1 draw, but who cares about results? At least humbleness was on the pitch, we should be thankful for humility from Mali that we saw during those 90 minutes.

Invisible as ever. I was never that hard on him either(not like free_cat anyway). I was always of the opinion that he was used wrongly as a DM. Today he played in something more like his natural role and he was dismal to say the least

Let's not forget Barcelona needed to keep players fresh for the tough matches coming up. Yes, Keita was off the pace but I don't blame him. Guardiola sent a team in the field that wasn't like Barcelona. They didn't take any risks at all. The movements up the field were minimal. Never seen such a static Barcelona team, so scared to open up the play with fast tempo. They were playing against slow 30+ year old defenders, one thing you got to do is outpacing them. I could see teams like Madrid and Bayern destroying Milan tonight but Barcelona didn't do anything spectacular. No away goals might cost them in the second leg.

Homage to Keita for his service and transfer to another club this summer, please.

Im pretty sure Keita was thrown on for the sole reason of adding some sort of physical presense

He's no monster, but at least he's 6 foot

Same situation as Pep throwing Pique up top vs Inter 2010, only difference is that this time Pique was already out injured, and at 6 foot Keita was the most imposing physical option you had left (Busquets obviously doesnt count)

Why Tello was brought on instead of Pedro is another question entirely..

Pep won't sell him for sure though another coach would and should. So much talent coming through and if they getting stopped because of wasteful players than really there is something wrong. If JDS is too short in Pep's eyes than buy back Romeu. Create havok!

There's a point to be made regarding diversity among a team though...Romeu is 6 foot but he's not a physical presence like Keita is

The smaller/more technically reliant/less physically imposing your lineups get... your basically exacerbating the sort of problem you had today vs Chelsea...Not sure it would be in issue in a La Liga game, but you see my point

Loool, I never watched him at the Chinese league, since I dont watch it at all Hard to tell but Valencia wouldnt sign him if he doesnt have much left to offer. Hope to see him play, at his best he was great for us, underrated!
