Re: Arsenal Lobby
Wojciech Szczesny, the Polish stopper was dining at a restaurant when he was spotted by a group of about 20 youngsters who were out to celebrate the birthday of one of their friends.
Szczesny was only too happy to give up some time to talk to the kids and sign autographs, as well as pose for pictures, according to the Loughborough Echo.
But the Gunners number one's most generous moment of all came when he left the restaurant and paid the bill of the party without informing them of his kindness.
He departed without the kids – and, presumably, mum and dad – knowing of his gesture.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
who should be Wenger's no 2 if Rice retires end of the season?
even though i love Bergkamp and Adams i think Bould deserves to get it, he knows most of the youngsters having done a lot of work with them in youth team

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Personally, I think the new number two should be someone who knows the club or has worked at the club for a number of years. I can see Wenger grooming his new assistant to take over from him in a few years time, and that transition will be made easier by someone who understands what this Arsenal is all about.
So bascially either Bergkamp, Bould or Adams. Bould probably "deserves" it but I wouldn't any of them, really.
Oh, and Mad Jens would be awesome in so many ways.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
My principal dedicated a great chunk of our morning chapel speech to Dennis Bergkamp, finally managed to stay awake. Just had to mention that.
I think it would be great to have someone familiar with the club and of that stature as AW's no. 2 maybe prepping them for the top role in the future.

Mike Dean will referee QPR vs Arsenal this weekend.
Well, that's our winning streak over.

Not even Mike Dean can stop us from winning a tough game. Mike Dean is an Arsenal fan now.

He did officiate the 5-2, and also gave Spurs a penalty that wasn't a penalty...

If we play great football like we did that match then no terrible officiating can stop us.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I attribute it to Sagna's return. Glad we have a world class player admitting to wanting to stay here long term. Even when he declines he would be invaluable to tutor Jenks and be a squad player.

Just saw this stat - Stoke City #PL home record since promotion in 08' - P72 W33 D20 L19.
Is it as hard there as some think?

not that they are supposed to beat everyone at home

19 loses in 72 games at home is pretty good for a mid table/low table team...
if EPL was only home game, then they would be getting at around 60 points a season enough to finish in EL spot

Re: Arsenal Lobby
You also have to look at Arsenal individual record at Stoke in the league:
Played - 3
Won - 1
Lost - 2
Plus a defeat there in the FA Cup. So we've gone there four times and have only won once.
Fortunately, it's game 36 of the season, and if we maintain our current form until then top four will be secured.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I have a better feeling about Stoke this year, but will depend on our form at the time and injuries.

The party was for the daughter of an advertising agency CEO, BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER.ernie_schwarz wrote:Wojciech Szczesny, the Polish stopper was dining at a restaurant when he was spotted by a group of about 20 youngsters who were out to celebrate the birthday of one of their friends.
