@ Doc, Just found it funny that the topic comes up so quickly..just like "why can't Fernando Torres score" does

@ che, For the record I was not on my computer but my coworkers (all of his browsing history, not mine, and he is not a football fan)

This is Mourinho response to the press when last quizzed about Sahin.

"Sahin wants to play, but he can't," Mourinho said at a press conference.

"He is doing his pre-season now. He has to rediscover his form and fitness so he can give me options. I cannot see him playing straight away.

"Physically and mentally Sahin is at pre-season levels and he needs to train well. I have not asked Sahin if he feels ready to play because I know he will say yes.

"We are tranquil with Nuri. He is a player with plenty of time ahead of him and we consider him to be important for us."

no the searches aren't based on your own personal browsing history, just the ads. the searches are based on how many people have entered that same query. since that comes up first whenever someone types [why doesnt n] means that it has been googled by LOTS of people LOTS of times.

this is what mou wants though, have all the talent in the world even if it means making them ride the bench. if he buys neymar, callejon would get minutes over him and people will ask WHY U NO PLAY NERMAN?

The situation hasn't changed much, Sahin has not looked too impressive in the few matches he's played this season, Mourinho knows exactly what he's doing, he's got long term plans for him. Like the Turkey coach said, Sahin was signed for 5 years not 5 months.

He'll get lots of game time, but there's no need to play him now, since the league is not yet won, I expect him to start all games after Madrid has wrapped up the league.

Mou made that comment in October and we are now in March. How many minutes has he had since then? pre season doesnt take 4 months, and you need minutes to get full match fitness. He looked impressive during his last copa game, and he looked pretty good playing for Turkey this week. He wont magically look his Dortmund form he is not playing. Saying he is in "preaseason period" for 4 months cant cut it. There were plenty of opportunities for him to get minutes in between.

Mourinho knows best, he's gotten Benzema, Marcelo, Di Maria, Ozil etc, playing their best football ever, I'm sure he has a plan for Sahin. He bought him to replace Alonso, and that's going to happen sooner or later.

The match against Ponferradina is definitely not the best indicator of the players performance, Mourinho trains the player day in day out, he has high opinions of him, and like I said he'll eventually replace Alonso.

Mourinho will play him when the time is right, if Sahin is as patient as Benzema, he'll be playing the best football of his life in a year's time.

Benzema never stopped playing....he just stopped starting.Sahin on the other hand dosen't even get garbage minutes.

That way, we all saw that Benzema was below par...we don't even know what's going on.....In the 3-4 games he's played he hasn't put a foot wrong.

Benzema was being given crap minutes at the end of matches, and as I said Sahin hasn't looked out of this world in the few matches that he's started. It's a matter of patience and waiting for the right opportunity and taking it when it comes.

So he's done very well by not complaining in public or requesting a transfer, Mourinho is obviously working on him, expect the best Sahin next season.

"I think Real Madrid is much better than Turkey's NT. Don't mean to offend. In gl, it's easier to play in NT than in club."

"Fantastic that Nuri played in NT. But we're not in a position to joke around. I continue w/ Xabi, Khedira, Lass."

"So yes, it's harder for Nuri to play."

Mou press conferance at the moment.

Why do why I get the feeling he went to London just to create speculation and make everyone think he is going to England. Just to deceive them and stay one more season at least. hmm

A better translation of what Mou said about Sahin:

"RMA is much better than Turkish NT. In general, it's easier to play for a NT than for RMA or in Barça, Milan, City... it's easier to play for Turkey or Portugal. Great for us that he plays for NT. Keep on thinking that Nuri doing a real pre-season, growing with the team, will be able to give much more.

We're not in the situation to give minutes to players that are not at their best"

Nuri Sahin's case - Page 6 Empty Re: Nuri Sahin's case

Post by StevieRayVaughan Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:28 pm

This is from Realmadrid website so it is quite accurate:

"No offence, but Real Madrid is a much better team than the Turkish national side. Club sides are better than national teams and it's easier to play regularly for your country's team than for your club because the teams are stronger. It's great news for us that Sahin did well and he can do even more if he continues to have a great preseason and to grow with the team. We're in no condition to kid around and use players who, in my opinion, aren't as productive as others right now."

"Granero is playing because he has great character and a strong personality. He is the sort of player I believe Real Madrid can't afford to lose. He should end his career here. He is a symbol of what Real Madrid embodies and he never lets us down. He is the only player I could be blamed for not using as much as he deserved in the first half of the season."

"I don't have to explain my private life to anyone, but out of respect for the club we always notify when any of us leaves Madrid. I told the President and the Director General I was going to London. I shouldn't ask any of you for permission or even tell you where I've been. That's my problem and nobody else's. I'm leaving again on Monday and I don't think I should have to fill in a permission slip."

It's a fair stance and that of a winner but I don't like the inherent stoicism of it.

I always had the same problem with Phil.......guy would never ever let a rookie play like if the triangle is some sort of rocket science to learn.

It's his job and reputation that will be on the line if the team fails to win just because he had to give one player or the other minutes.

Mourinho has been very consistent in his statements, Sahin didn't have a preseason and has been injured for much of this season. Team chemistry is very important especially in the vital "Alonso" role.

He'll get his chances if he remains patient, just as Granero has gotten his, he'll have to make the most of it though, Mourinho always reward hard working players.
