I'll start by Inzhagi , he said himself he wasn't that talented but he worked so hard .. : Respect

there is an ambiguity with what is "great" i must admit

Let's say players who in comparaison of the talent they got , went far . I can't really definite it , just give some exemples because i agree it is kind of complex. Crouch, Papiss cissé, Miccoli are among those guys. Players who at first, you wouldn't have bet for to have a good/great career (or some good years at the top) . They don't even have to be WClass

Didier Drogba was still playing in French D2 at 25.

Depends what you mean by great. If we are talking all time standings or even best players in their position at the time, then im thinking none.

Raul was never the best technically but he reached the highest heights of club football.

However this is a stretch because he clearly was talented as well. His hard work and competitiveness is what set him apart though.

depends on what you mean by talent

people would say higuain isnt that talented because he isnt flashy or doesnt dribble past 4 or 5 guys.. but then again , off the ball movement, positioning, keeping an eye out for defenders mistakes is also talent right>?

I think Raul had great finishing, great talent at that. I agree his hard work and will made him something special because talent alone wouldnt of done it for him.

But I still think he was a great talent.

Cristiano Ronaldo is talented, but it's his hard-working nature that has made him the only player of this generation on the level of messi.

This!
I think the OP confuses talent with technical ability. Making runs, shooting technique etc. or smart positioning to fool defenders are talents as well eco smile

Cristiana Ronaldo is a horible example, the guy is talented out the nose

I would say Chicharito becoming a big hit. Dude isn't really taltented at any thing other than wanting to score no matter what - is that a talent? No, just a drive he has

i'll also say Papiss cissé ,i see Newcastle fan being exciting buy this player but i remmebber Watching him playing with METZ in French D1 and then D2. Back to those days i was like " this guy could easily play for a mid--table french D1" because even in this weak team he still managed to score 10 goals ( in France there is not a lot of goals scored btw )

What dribbles ? Does he do it every game ?

He's hardly the most skillful player though but he has a great work ethic.A real Pro...
