He does have 2 assists (against barca) next to his balls, worthy of gold

I don't intend to defend Very Happy Xabi for Ozil in 70-75th minute Very Happy The thing is, if we can put up with them in high line, we create more chances than them per given time or possession Very Happy Let Higgy fiunish them= huge problem for Farca. The 4-3-3 Idea - Page 4 Empty Re: The 4-3-3 Idea

Post by Error Sun Jun 19, 2011 11:50 pm

I have feeling that this is something we're going to see next season.

Higuain/Benzema

CR/Callejon--------Kaka/Granero------Özil/Di Maria

Alonso/Sahin----Khedira/Altintop

Marcelo---Pepe/Carvalho----Ramos/Albiol-----Coentrao/Arbeloa

Casillas/Adan

In this formation everyone plays at position they are used to or have played at some point of their career (Granero's and Sahin could swap positions so Sahin can possibly start ahead of Kaka). Özil could start ahead of Kaka too and play as AM but he is currently the only AM in squad who is comfortable enough to play at wing. Sahin, Granero and Kaka can all play in the middle but not at the wing which makes it even harder to keep Özil in the middle. One from Alonso, Sahin and Özil is not going to be a guaranteed starter, no matter how you try unless you want to field really unbalanced team.

If you compare that 4-2-3-1 formation to suggested 4-3-3 formation then Özil also has to play another position than AM. Do we play him as attacking CM where he has never really played or winger where he has played? Kaka won't fit very well in 4-3-3 either, he isn't really a wide player. Can Sahin play as well as Alonso DM/playmaker role? Can anyone do it from current squad? Sahin and Granero seems to fit better in more advanced position pure CM or AM. Khedira and Altintop neither are DM's so they would also struggle to do Alonso's role. In the end, a couple players would have to play in unfamiliar position in 4-3-3.

Higuain/Benzema

CR/Callejon------------------------Di Maria/Kaka

Özil/Granero------Khedira/Altintop

Alonso/Sahin

Marcelo---Pepe/Carvalho----Ramos/Albiol-----Coentrao/Arbeloa

Casillas/Adan

Buying Agüero to play at wing doesn't seem smart or logical. Why we would buy him to play at wing when we don't play Benzema or Higuain there? We would shoot our selves in the foot with that move since we would need to buy another striker and we would have to bench three from Di Maria, Özil, Kaka, Sahin and Alonso. If we are really going to buy Agüero then he will be a striker although I don't really think or agree that he is able to play as CF.

I think that if we used that trivote against every tiny La Liga team, Di Stefano and Cruyff would soon be moaning again.

Wait, did I just mention Di Stefano and Cruyff together? Sorry...

Against the smaller teams (Mid table down) we could use a more attacking formation:

-----------Casillas
-Arbeloa-Pepe-Ramos-Marcelo
-Sahin/Khedira--Alonso
-Di Maria/Kaka*--Ozil--Ronaldo
-----------Benzema

*Kaka and Di Maria could rotate, of course if Kaka plays he would be in the centre while Ozil would go to the right.

On the other hand, against Barca:

-----------------Casillas
-Arbeloa-Carvalho-Ramos-Marcelo
-------------------Pepe
----------Khedira-------Sahin
-Ronaldo--------------------Di Maria
------------Benzema/Higuain

Done right, this could be a huge development and improvement on the tactics we used in the run of clasicos this year.

You are ignoring the moves that are coming!!!

Arbeloa will not be starting. Coentrao will be. If for some reason this doesn't happen, then we would stay with Ramos at RB.

Similarly Benz will not be starting. He will be replaced with Aquero (or an outside chance Neymar).

No way Alonso doesn't start against Barcelona. It will be him plus Khedira or Sahin or possibly all 3 of them or the 3rd is a CB or Lass or his DM replacement.

No way Ronaldo starts on left, Di Maria will continue on left. I also have doubts about where or if Kaka starts.

And finally you are totally discounting all the reports that we will mostly go with a 4-3-3.

I think there is something to the articles that say we are going to be mostly 4-3-3 this year.

I think the following:

CR/Callejon--------Aquero/Higuain/Morata------Di Maria/Altintop

Alonso/Sahin------Ozil/Thiago-------Khedira/Granero/Lass

Marcelo---Ramos/Carvalho----Pepe/Albiol-----Coentrao/Arbeloa

Casillas/Adan

Morata may be Adebayor or even possibly (I think this is low probability) Neymar.
If Kaka doesn't go, then he would be reserve to Ozil rather than Thiago.
If Lass does leave he will be replaced with a new DM.

I also see a fair amount of flexibility with this year's squad (all of the stikers can play wing occasionally, Ozil can also play wing, I can see Alonso, Sahin and Khedira as the 3 MF's at times, Altintop can make appearances in any of the right side positions, Arbeloa will also be reserve for LB and I can see any of CB playing as DM and of course let's not forget that Ramos is our emergency replacement for goal).

Against Barcelona, I expect a little more defense than usual, but hopefully still with some offensive capabilities.

Yeah, I think its pretty obvious by this point that I dont think much about Coentrao and Kun coming. In fact, Im even starting to doubt the latter.

Now. Unless you trust an old Carvalho or Trollbiol, Ramos will probably move inside. IMO Arbeloa is more than capable on the right, apparently Jose does not agee with me though. As for the Aguero move, I think we should not assume something that is not even 100% sure yet. If we did end up with Kun, Higuain would be more appropriate for a lone striker role anyway. Neymar? I laugh at the suggestion that he is even capable of playing CF for Real Madrid.

Alonso is pretty crap against Barca. Most of us have noticed this, and I love Xabi as much as the next guy, but he shouldnt be starting. More appropriate as a sub to close down the game. I also find it pretty shocking that you havent realised that Ronaldo has been playing on the left all season apart from 2 games. In the starting lineups, Cristiano is on the left while Di Maria is on the right, but we all know that they often switch during a game. Against Barca however, Di Maria has had great success on the left and must continue there in order to pin back Alves. No biggie.

For Kaka, I also doubt whether he will start, but if you care to read I did point out that he would be in the centre if he does. About the 4-3-3, I gave my explanation that I believe it wouldnt be necessary to be that defensive against the minor La Liga teams, but it would be the best option against tougher teams and away in the CL, for example. Against Barca, we need a different formation and tactics which is why there is the second diagram.

I hope that helps answer your questions. *why arent there any ordinary simple smilies?*

This is actually pretty good!

my other option is a 4-3-1-2

The (1) being Ozil and the (2) Ronaldo and another forward. then in the midfield (3) you put a lot of steel so that the fullbacks can fly up the wings.

eg. ---------------------------Casillas--------------------------------
Coentrao----------Ramos-------------Carvalho-------------Marcelo

Yeah lol, well take your pick between which ever one of those 3 will be on form. Hell take 2 of those 3 if Ronaldo is off goal scoring form, but then again I doubt that CR7 can go more than 2 games without scoring.

Use Meijas (3rd keeper) and Morata (3rd Striker) but keep them with Castilla

Sell Leon, Garay, Drenthe and Lass

Loan Sarabia, Canales and Mateos
