Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Raphael Honigstein: "I think Podolski's people are trying to speed up a move to Arsenal, by tipping off 'Bild' "
"Podolski is fed up playing with relegation week in, week out. Koln have broken promises. Podolski wants to win things."
"There has been contact between Arsenal and Koln since last summer, but Arsenal offered nowhere near enough money."
"Arsenal have been trying for a while to sign Podolski. Podolski would have gone in January if the two clubs had agreed."
"Podolski's move to Bayern didn't work out. He's only just started performing this season."
"Podolski's preferred position is deep-lying centre-forward. He can play on his own too. He can play on the left too."
"There are few left-sided players in football as good at finishing as Podolski is."
Honigstein was talking on talksport.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
YoungGuns just tweeted this story:
Biglia is all but certain to quit Anderlecht at the end of the season, having enjoyed a hugely successful six years in Belgian football, winning six trophies, including the Pro League title twice, while also claiming the Young Player of the Year accolade in his first campaign.
However, despite the success, the 26-year-old is desperate to add to his six caps for Argentina, and believes a move across Europe will help bolster his chances of becoming a regular for the La Albiceleste.
A technically excellent defensive midfielder with a speciality for set pieces, Biglia had seemed destined for a move to Spain next term, with Valencia and Villarreal both monitoring the player in recent weeks, but it now seems likely that the Premier League will also be an option, after Arsenal stepped up their interest.
The Gunners have held a tentative interest in Biglia for around 18 months, but make their move last Thursday, when trusted scout Gilles Grimandi made contact with Biglia's agent, after watching his Anderlecht team-mate Matias Suarez impress against AZ Alkmaar.
Arsenal remain keen on Suarez, but sections of the Belgian media suggest Grimandi told Biglia's representatives that the club are still following him, but must see a bigger improvement before they consider making a bid.
Anderlecht are already resigned to losing Biglia, but would command a fee of at least £15 million, with the Argentine maestro signing a new contract until 2015 less than 12 months ago.
Arsenal are said to be keen on adding to their central midfield ranks when the transfer window re-opens, having previously been linked with Rennes star Yann M'Vila and Racing contract rebel Claudio Yacob.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Solbakken: Podolski free to decide on Arsenal transfer
On Tuesday, Bild reported that the 26-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Gunners. Koln-based source Express later asserted that nothing had been confirmed, but that it is only a matter of time before the deal is completed.
And although he was careful not to reveal any details, Solbakken suggested he would not attempt to block a move.
"Lukas' decision is important for us all, but also for him. We must respect this," he said according to SID.
"I know a little more than you," Solbakken added. "I know a lot, but for me it is important that he has everything under control and can concentrate on the upcoming games.
"Podolski is a Koln player at the moment and we know that he will be here until the end of the season. Then we will have to see what happens."
Podolski has been in blistering form this season, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances. He is currently valued at €20 million, but with his contract set to expire in 2013, his price tag may be negotiable.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Loving the Podolski rumors
If this persists and we keep this majestic banner then we'll be the only GL club section to be repped by two players

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
My kid speaks German so I made him useful and told him to go out and try to figure this out. What he says is that Podolski is more than a rumor and the reasoning behind it is that Lukas feels as though he has been lied to by team officials. He was sold that they were going to bring in players that would help him out and they have not.

loool^ Good use of ur son
Biglia will be another great addition to the team, Replacing Denilson for example. However where will that leave coquelin and frimpong ?

Biglia for 15M ?Im not sure
his abilty to win the ball higher up the pitch impressed me but his passing was inconsistent, and could be costly, but of course i should watch more of him
would bring suarez from that team

Sell Denilson, loan out Frimpong and Coquelin next year and rotate Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta, Song and Bigilia.

Yeah it's complete bull. He would be our oldest player (I don't count Almunia as a player).
I can see Tottenham signing him yeah but just adding to the pile.
ffs I just want Podolski, yeah send Bendy to Siberia for all I care.

Re: Latest Arsenal Rumours
Update on Podolski:
Raphael Hongstein, German football expert:
"Podolski's possible move to Arsenal will simply come down to valuation."
"Podolski wants this move to happen. The fee would be around £16.7m, which is expensive as he has 1 year left on his deal."
"It's Podolski's versatility which attracts Arsene Wenger to him most. He is the sort of striker Wenger loves."
Honigstein on a possible swap deal between Chamakh & Podolksi: "I can't see Koln paying Chamakh's wages."

We cant be cheap here for a player Podolski caliber 16 million is a fair price even though he has one year left.
We sold Nasri who had half good season for almost 2wice that money.

Trust me, we are going to haggle that and try to save on it. If Poldi makes his mind up about us and hands in a transfer request, its bound to knockdown the fee a bit. Last year of his contract. If he looks at other offers as well, then we can get raped (again) in the highest bidder gets him scenario. Whats the bet Mancs or Spuds would want him? Or Chelsea?
Facepalm on the Chamakh wages. More deadwood is how I see this situation. Our wage structure seriously needs to be reconsidered.
