As for Cesc, that new dimension is nice, but its cost us in other areas.
There are many players who would fit your system just not necessarily the type of player that'd succeed given sheer amount of pressure to succeed.... this isn't Holland where you would w*nk over a 5 yard pass there is alot more expectation in Spain and hence a guy playing in such a semi-pro league would just crumble under pressure when they make the big jump
tbh you've been struggling when Cex has had to play in midfield the guy is very good in attack... has done what some of the other guys have failed to do and thats to score...
with time i think he will get faster and his passing will be in sync with the others just give him time

Re: el shaarawy vs Erikson
He played and dominated in the CL, I am confident in his ability. I value players who can play in a 433 possession side (note, not part of a double pivot 4231) because they are normally multi talented like Eriksen is.
Cesc has played up front which means Messi isnt center, so no, that isnt good either.
I aint got a problem giving him time, but while we do that, we drop points.

thiago > eriksen
eriksen is one of the best u-19 players atm. anyone watch the ajax v feyenoord match? very class goal by eriksen, unfortunately ajax lost.

the only time he actually awed anyone was his game against Lyon he had a chance to show the world his talents against us but failed.....
i am not saying he is crap but the way he is playing atm a big leap would just be unbearable for him
compare your situation to ours for example...
Ozil has had to play on the wings to let Kaka's sorry arse some time on the pitch and FINALLY its actually paying off "somewhat"(he is still crap but doesnt mess up our system/chemistry/results)...
Mehssi on the other hand played on the wings a few seasons back he should not have a problem stepping to the sides for(in this case) Cex or Sanchez that has been playing there once or twice.... i think pep is doing it the hard way just like Mou did with Ozil

U Kidding Hala?
Messi no longer runs anywhere near enough to be effective on the wings. He plays so many minutes and he's not a physical phenomenon by any means.Making Messi
run that much is a disastrous idea.

i think he runs just as much as their other wingers.... Ozil didnt run much before either but he does now and considering it used to be Mehssi's position before it should not be a hassle

Thiago is definitely more talented than Eriksen and that's coming from one of Eriksen's biggest fans!

Re: el shaarawy vs Erikson
lol Ozil is on a rotation.
Messi will play every single game and he will get more touches and will end up having to do more work.
How can you move a guy who scores 50 goals and gets 25 assists a season?
That's madness.

Re: el shaarawy vs Erikson
They had more possession than you, a huge achievement and he was centeral to that. He didnt fail, he is 19, what was he going to do? Win them the game?
He could be easily go a big team, get time in small doses and work his way in.
Look at Ajax stats in the CL, 54% possession (one % less than you, more than Chelsea, Arsenal, Porto, Milan, Lyon) and he is a big part of that. 9th in shots on target, 5th in shots off target which suggest they are creating chances (again he is a big part of that). Individually he also destroyed Zagreb, something even you guys struggled with in one of the games.
As for Messi, he isnt the same player he was 4 seasons ago, he plays differently and takes up different areas on the pitch.

Re: el shaarawy vs Erikson
Comparing Ozil and Messi makes no sense.
Messi is a goalscorer and the closer he is to the goal the better, this isnt the case for Ozil because he looks for the final pass and has no problem not getting into goalscoring positions.
Bottom line, Messi moved Etoo out from centerforward to play in the middle...no way in hell shoud Cesc move Messi back to where he started.

what rotation is ozil on??? Benz/Higuain is rotation not Ozil....
again Mehssi used to play on the wings ahd he still scored alot albeit he had Eto in the centre...
who is forcing him to play??? hasnt Pep already said that Mehssi WANTS to play all games despite Pep wanting him to get rest??
prior to that it was Xavi and and Alves who used to asisst more... the way they are playing now with everything having to go through Mehssi is what has killed them away.... him having a poor game has made the others unable to pick up why??? b/c he is the one who gets the last or second from last touch on the ball it didnt used to be like this when Eto played

i was just comparing them in terms of where they are comfortable the most and if youve seen Ozil on the wings youd understand where i am coming from
Mehssi moved Eto out??? wait when???
anyways him supplying you all your goals speaks volumes of the other guys
if he is moved to the wings and the other guys cant pick up the goal scoring then thatd be worrying... what if he gets injured??? i kinda know what Pep is doing tbh

Ander> Eriksen and Thiago BTW. :lucas:
Hala you do realize that even if you take away his dribbling and his vision Messi is still a top 10 striker in the world?
His finishing in and around the area and his movement in the box is probably the best in the world.

I have seen Ozil on the wings, I watch all Madrid games.
I got what you mean, but you understand that Messi is most effective the closer the gets to the goal...that isnt the same with Ozil.
Messi moved Etoo out, yes. When Pep came he soon realised the importance of Messi in the center, which is part of the reason Etoo was played rightwing in the CL final vs Man Utd. The next season Etoo was gone and Messi was in the middle.
So now, moving him back wide makes no sense.
We already depend too much on Messi's goals and we dont have a number 9 with Villa dead, so no, him going wide doesnt make sense. What if Messi gets injured? Then we dont win anything..thats regardless of what position he plays.

Such a pessimist.
All I know is he's playing in a top league starting every game on a team that looks very good for the future. And his spot is guaranteed.
Can't really say the same about Thiago or Eriksen.

Wow..Comparing Eriksen to a nobody here..
And a Milan fan laughed at me when i said Allegri would bench him despite his perfomance against Novara in preference to Urby..well guess what ,its gonna stay that way !
And Milan fans out of all people should be holding Eriksen in high regard even though it was a meaningless game against Ajax last season.

Re: el shaarawy vs Erikson
You can't compare a player who has earnt a spot in the first eleven in a very good team to someone just breaking out. Eriksen's greater maturity on the pitch as a result of this time that he has earnt makes him a team player, whilst El Shaarawy for all of his energy and a natural connection with certain team mates is still an individual who will learn to become part of our team with more time. In terms of influence, effectiveness and importance to a match and his team it's easily Eriksen at the moment.
As for potential they're in different positions so I shan't comment. Once El Shaarawy has earnt a regular berth as a substitute even once our injured players return then we can begin to compare him to others. He deserves all the time he gets, but this is an internal issue, there's no need to expose him to this sort of expectation so early on in his development.
