IMO it is sensible to have several tactical options in a team. I mean, if you keep to just one strategy, it is easier to figure out to counter that.

I don't understand; how can crossing be overrated? Sometimes crossing the ball is very effective. They can be used effectively on the counter, or if the box is overloaded you can always whip in a cross instead of trying to find a way through. It adds another dimension to your game so if your game plan ain't going right, you can try something else. Makes you less predictable Wink

Dont know about overrated, but im convinced certain teams overuse them.

If you have possession of the ball why would you cross the ball in to fight for a 50-50? Its madness.

However, if your picking someone out with a cross who is in clear space, then its great.
