I'll let this thread be, but before I do so, I will say that Walcott is extremely underrated and is a great winger that has experienced a year of injuries and a couple of months of bad form. That does not take away from any of the great statistics or performances that he has put up over the past years.

He is not underrated and is not a great winger, the words "great winger" and Walcott, at this present moment in time, are contradictory. Walcott still lacks a footballing brain, and he's only been off form for the past couple of months? Yes, true, but over the course of his career, he has never maintained a great level of performances and consistency, I simply can't believe you called him a great winger.

Definitely not Walcott, he has been extremely inconsistent and shouldn't be mentioned alongside Valencia's, or Mata's, name. I have maintained that Bale has been the best winger in the league, despite being relatively poor in 2012, he has been more consistent than Walcott.

9 goals and 11 assists in 3055 minutes this season

Valencia

3.4 goals and 14 assists in 2255 minutes this season

2.Mata.

10 goals and 13 assists in 3152 minutes

1.Bale.

11 goals and 13 assists in 2774 minutes.

Personally though...Mata has much more influence over the game on a whole than Bale.As far as doing the duties of a Winger go...Bale's got it.
