Wet Spam after Lukaku
Would be a good place for a loan. I am all for it.

Agreed, West ham would give him game time and he won't have to move. Ideal

Couldn't agree more. I would pay 25-30m for Modric tops.
Why would Spurs even sell Modric to a PL rival for a such a relatively cheap sum ?
He is not worth that amount of money(as mentioned by Marca) but i'm sure Spurs would definitely think it would be better to sell him abroad for a reasonable sum than strengthen a direct rival by selling him at just about the same value.
Unless you place a massive bid for him ,you wont get him imo..just my opinion.

Oh I don't there there's any delusion or disagreement here that Levy will do everything in his power to not sell to Chelsea. Even though it will almost certainly mean collecting a sum considerably less than that offered to him by us last summer.

I don't know if Spurs would accept my price but that is my personal price. I wouldn't pay more. Chelsea may.

The strongest reason is because he wants to move, and we are the highest bidders unless Madrid or Barca comes knocking in.. If Modric wants to move Spurs cant do much because they were holding him for like 2-3 season in a row without any trophies or such..
Re: Rumour Mill
What are your opinions on our Right Back situation guys?
Whether we like it or not, the only RB we are consistenly linked to lately is Maicon. I remember two versions of him; one where he was more expensive than Mata while linked to a move to Madrid and another version where the 'best right back in the world' was getting owned painfully by Gareth Bale'
Would you want Maicon, for say 8 mil, and the same wages as Bosingwa on our team? He is more powerful and has decent pace as well.
You can point out Hutchinson and Kane but I doubt they'd play an important role this season; they'll probably play in the reserves this year and go on a loan on the next.
Maicon Luiz Terry Cole ---> looks pretty good IMO. Personally, I want Ivanovic to be given the preference but given how RDM treated the back line, I'm guessing the 2 CBs will be determined by Cahill Terry Ivanovic and Luiz, with Chalobah making the bench occassionaly since Bruma will only return next season
Also I've read a part of a report that Ferreira is on his way out too, if so, this move does make sense.

Anything under £5M would be nice and Kalas isn't ready yet, let him have more first team action before a role in our squad.

Re: Rumour Mill
Ivanovic isnt that old and all our current targets ie Duchby, VDW etc are all very young too, if we buy someone that young our current academy players ie Kane, Kalas etc will be heavily blocked from first team action, and at the end of the day, id say Kalas and Kane would both be less of a liability then Paulo

Paulo isn't leaving. He's trained with the squad earlier today.
Anyway, I don't like the Maicon idea for £8M. Anything from £5M below and I'm all for it.

Re: Rumour Mill
I would take Maicon for 8m. Great experience, great 3-4 season player, great attacking threat and can teach Kane a thing or two. Once he gets old Kane can set up just like Bertrand has.
This is why I want him over debuchy, as long as he doesn't expect to play every game it is a win win for all. Sell Hutchinson BTW, and promote Kane to his place and let Kane, Ivanovic and Maicon train together so they can teach Kane. Kane should keep playing reserves though.

Maicon
that guys wages are going to be ridiculous, we could sign two young players and their combined wages would probably be the same as Maicons alone, he better play like an absolute GOAT

Re: Rumour Mill
He's washed up..
But things would've been different if he played under Mou though.
A change of scenary would mean he could still rejuvenate his career though i think he doesnt suit the Premier League's direct style at this point in his career.
