If you had the choice between CR7 and Kunt on the wing, who would you play there?mtfootball wrote:But isn't Ronaldo better on the wings with his speed and dribbling?

Ronaldo because he is a proven natural winger.
I really wouldn't mind if Ronaldo was CF though.

I'd play Kunt, he can beat his man very often, more than Ronaldo. Also, what use do you have in your natural winger when doesn't pass or cross when others need it ?mtfootball wrote:Ronaldo because he is a proven natural winger.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
Crossing for me is one of the the last ways we should score. Besides, Ronaldo never crosses and if he ever does it's a random cross after attempting a skill.
Aguero isn't a pure run down the wing crosser either, he would be more like a finisher type player with good dribbling skills.

That's what we need,a finisher who can beat his man or pass and a physical poacher as CFmtfootball wrote:Crossing for me is one of the the last ways we should score. Besides, Ronaldo never crosses and if he ever does it's a random cross after attempting a skill.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
Well even Ronaldo could pass. If we play 4-3-3 then the strikers don't really need to pass because the midfielders would pretty much just do all the work. The thing with our system is no one ever makes any runs, it's all about dribbling with Di Maria and Ronaldo.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
I think even Benzema coming from the left and cutting inside is better.
Aguero would do it wonderfuly as well, doesnt stop ronaldo from swapping position with them, but i rather see that kind of player more involved in the build up.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
thats what mou wants to improve on, he wants us playing a bit like his inter did, good runs and throughballs, and we havnt played exactly like that.
thats why when he was coaching inter you could see games against barcelona where he got 9 offsides, the most madrid has gotten is 2, gotta work on the throughballs, the pace, the space, i can remember well what sneijder did to barca that wonderful night...

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
Inter football was nothing to languish upon, they were actually not interesting to watch at all. If that's the long term plan i just LOL. we need to turn into a possession oriented sided, hence work on the build up. One way or the other we will always have more possession than our opponent, the counter is useless then. If we play Man utd in europe they will sit back and wait for us.
I really doubt he is trying to apply serie A and Inter principles to Real Madrid. he might be building bigger basis for counter but that's as far as it goes to me.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
Yeh that's true. We will usually have more possession vs every team except Barca. That's why we need to improve on our possession game and give it the same priority as we do to counter-attacks.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
If mou goes possesion style that means he goes against everything he has been doing in his career Inter, Chelsea and Porto. I do not think he will use new system it is too risky he is gonna go with counter attack all season.
He is going to use the same system he has been that has won him trophies unless a miracle happens I can't see us playing sexy football.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
you guys dont understand. or didnt understand what i ment. his team no matter who he has managed has almos always played very differently against barca than they do against any team out there.
of course we have to work on our build up plays and etc, and mossesion, our passing game, our creativity, and it will eventually help in the counter attack as well. he wants to build a playing style.
when i mean play like inter, i only refer to when facing barcelona, and even at that i dont mean play exactly like inter did but learn from it. we cant play the pressurize game against barca, we have to do what inter did, change tempos.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
Mourinho so far as won with underrated teams playing the counter and sitting deep.
This isnt real madrid, he can do it against barcelona, but if he parks the bus against the likes of man utd or chelsea, he will get no love from the purists.
we are a top dog team by nature, and those team will bunker up anyway when we play them. If we dont learn how to break them down, we will struggle big time.

It really will be interesting to see if by next season we go to playing beautiful football. Because only a few months ago we were parking the bus at home with 3 DM's.

If Kunt comes, Di Maria, Kunt, Ozil and Sahin would be a plenty for any bus parking teamSt_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:Mourinho so far as won with underrated teams playing the counter and sitting deep.

Yeh agreed. With the 3 teams he managed before he could turn them into underdogs but we are the top dogs so this is a different challenge for him.

Babun they still have to work it, and show it consistently, specially the one touch football. Im missing that quite badly to be honest.

Re: Some insight on Mourinho
the goal is obviously not to park the bus against all top teams, and eventually to stop doing it against barca. he wont be happy and we wont be happy if he doesnt develop a team which can take on barca THE WAY INTER DID in 2009/2010, doesnt mean we have to play exactly like them.
hes not stupid
@ mtfootball: fail.... shows me how much u understand mourinho and football for that matter sometimes.
