If you had to pick one..?
I was asked this really interesting question today. Was wondering what you guys would opine about it..
If you had to pick one, Cesc or Nasri, who would it be?
(Obviously, the implication is that the one you pick would pull on a Arsenal jersey next season, while the other would unfortunately be sold this summer)
I am perplexed, but I am inclined towards Cesc right now, even though we have better chances of holding on to Nasri for a longer duration (IF we manage to get him to sign a contract now) than Cesc, who would eventually leave anyway.. Comment..

If Cesc would stay until his contract runs out I would pick him over Nasri.

Re: If you had to pick one..?
What are the chances that Nasri will get better than what he is now? I'll be honest, the only reason I gave this a thought is because, if (BIG IF) we mange to make him sign now, he'll definitely stay much longer than Fabregas will.. And though he has sucked at it till now imo, once Fabregas leaves, the AM role is his for the taking.. He'll move in there ahead of RvP or Wilshere or Ramsey, if he is still at Arsenal.. And this makes the question more interesting.. Think over it

Re: If you had to pick one..?
Nasri, he's not 'in-transit', we get to choose a proper captain...plus i wouldn't be that much scared if we were to meet Barca in the CL

Well, i think Nasri still has more potential. so Nasri for me. Cesc can leave now, i would not have a single problem

Re: If you had to pick one..?
In terms of abilities (vision, passing) and importance to the team I would have to say Cesc, but the barca drama year in year out is quite frustrating and annoying and we all know Cesc has his desires to go back there.
So I would have to say Nasri I believe he is really under-performing based on his abilities (dribbling, shooting etc) and has the potential to improve his passing range as well he does show glimpses from time to time...

It didnt take me much.. Cesc.. He is more important to the team.. Nasri is more of just an individual talent.. And i think Cesc will be relatively more happy to play for us than Nasri considering the current situation...

Re: If you had to pick one..?
Good Question.
On one hand we have nasri who is holding the club ransom for more money but who will stay longer if we get him to sign his contract or fabregas a brilliant servant of arsenal but who has become homesick and will return if not this year then the next.
However i would keep Cesc for one more year rather then sticking with money hungry nasri.
At least keeping Cesc will mean our salary structure remains the same and will set a precedent for other players who think having 4 good months entitle them to be joint top earners at the club.

Re: If you had to pick one..?
Makes it all the easier to pick Cesc, considering the statements made by both players in the last couple of days.. On one hand you have Cesc saying that even though it pains him to not win anything, he is the captain of this squad and will not leave his team.. And then you have Nasri claim that Arsenal contract remains his priority, not what other clubs may be willing to give him..

Re: If you had to pick one..?
Perry Groves, in an interview with Sky Sports News, revealed that while he would like to see both players (nasri and cesc) stay, he wouldn’t mind selling Fabregas to raise funds for the club.
“If Cesc Fabregas wants to go, I’ve said before I would actually let him go,” said Groves.
“He has to be 100 per cent committed to Arsenal Football Club. If he wants to stay then brilliant, he’s a fantastic player, but we’ve had this for the last three seasons now like we had with Thierry Henry.
“If he wants to go then get the £50million in for him and that will help you invest in the playing side of it.”
Groves, however, did believe it was much more important for Arsenal to resign Samir Nasri.
“It’s vitally important that Arsenal keep hold of Samir Nasri. Last season in the first six months he was probably the outstanding player, along with Gareth Bale, in the Premier League.”

Re: If you had to pick one..?
Players like Nasri are all over the world. Theres not many players who could do what Cesc does.
Right now, Neither of them seem likely to reach their late 20's at the club, and i could see Nasri forcing his way out far below his value too.
