Sahin improves our quality down the middle. Coentrao doesnt improve our defense. Buying a proper CB for that kind of money would have been a Much better thing to do.

coentrao is more important for the system mou wants us to play.

ramos,pepe, and carvalho are good enough for now, a new cb maybe coming in next year.

mou proves this right by showing his obvious obsession over having an rb like maicon, or hence like fabio.

if we dont buy coentrao we aint buying any right backs, and mou's ideal defense for madrid wont be completed.

one injured or suspended CB in an important games i think we are done

unless albiol became a superhero next season

we will have ramos and pepe as starting center backs and then we will have carvalho as back up as well.

we dont know if carvalho will sign for a 3rd year, either way we will have to buy a new cb back up next year.

this year it seems a stretch.

i still dont think mou finds a new cb nesscary. if we get a cb its not gonna be a starting cb.

all he wanted from the begiin ing was his ideal rb so he can put ramos at cb.

now that he will hopefgully have that with fabio. his ideal defense will be established.

With or without Coentrao? If one of Ramos/Pepe gets injured, play Carvalho= problem solved...

well i don't know, for now the only way i can see how putting coentrao in our starting XI will improve our defense is to put him as LB instead of marcelo who is not so great at defending
that's why i think rotating marcelo and coentrao will make more sense than putting coentrao at RB as arbeola is much proven & solid as RB
it will be interesting to see how we're gonna use him next season if we do buy him, can't wait

that what im thinking, competition with marcelo since marcelo failed mou couple of times last season.

Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho and Lolbiol are CBs for me, both CB positions double covered. Three solid defenders, what are you talking about?
Coentrao---Ramos-----Pepe----Marcelo

Swap Godbeloa and Coentrao according to requirements ( defensive or offensive). Carvalho and Lolbiol as backups for Ramos/Pepe. Coentrao can also play LB when Marcelo is suspended/injured or for a tired DI Maria

You're right. Half the reason we signed him is because of his versatility.

Maybe Arbeloa will play CB if most of our CB's are injured.

i hardly think a left footed RB is mous IDEAL defense.

Arbeloa managed to do a fantastic job covering LB when he is infact a RB. Why can't Coentrao do it? Oh wait he can and will.
