Re: Barcas biggest weak link?
Barca's aging back line. But I really don't know who can replace a player like Puyol I just don't know. ORRR Dani Alves who will need to be replaced in a couple of years if he leaves or if WHEN he declines with age.

We already know he is not used to those things, I dont think anyone is saying he will never get it. We are saying he isnt going it right now, thats it.
Whats Xavi doing? You didnt watch todays game then I assume.
Noone is asking him to boss, we are asking him to stay in midfield more often and not constantly ignore it to try and get goals.

Re: Barcas biggest weak link?
I agree about the set plays also thats a big weakness with barca which is clearly seen with physical sides that take advantage of them....
Re: Barcas biggest weak link?
Well, breaking into Barca's midfield is the hardest out of all available positions. Keita took a while to get going, Masche didn't do so well and was dropped deeper to defense, Afellay is used but on the wings etc. Thiago and all the other guys came out of La Masia knowing exactly what to do. Cesc is used to being the focal point of a team, and with a more direct passing style, apart from not having to press most of the time. Sure, he's childhood friends with Messi and co; but that doesn't mean he has that telepathic connection Barca players have. The Franchise wrote:RedEyesWhiteBeard wrote:cesc is new to the team and needs to adapt to the barcalona style, he is not used to the barca positioning and defensive duties. plus atm barca players just look tied, but dont blame it on cesc as barca are not up to their usual standard even without him playing, whats xavi doing?. he is very new to the team and you expect him to boss everything already. hope he flops and come back to arsenal anyway, we will use him the right way.

I am willing. I have said before, I think he will eventually get it. On the weekend against Zara he looked like he was starting to.
Just right now, im not happy with him is all. I am patient though. I am telling people to give Sanchez time, so I have to do that with Cesc too.

What?
He pratically played as a striker for Arsenal during a period in the 09-10 season when RVP was injured.

Nah he played behind our mighty striker - Arshavin.

Their Defense was never a strong point, tbh.
Nor does it need to be.

What's the problem with Villa being wide? He's had a run of great games playing there. The problem is him, not the position.

Re: Barcas biggest weak link?
I’d say the form of certain players right now.
Villa is a shadow but I can’t blame the position. He’s had some amazing games on the flanks.
Puyol was one of the worst players last night. Pedro hasn’t shown his past goalscoring abilities yet.
Should Villa and Pedro rise on form we would be more than fine.
Players form aside, the team’s height is its Achilles’ heel especially in set pieces

Re: Barcas biggest weak link?
Puyol has been in bad form lately starting from spain match..
Also valdes and his over anticipation is always 50-50 against skilled players.Guessing is a terrible technique against good players for a GK.
All other things are fine for Barca, they just need more run with 433 to hit form.
