Our much-maligned Slovakian center-back has by far the highest accuracy rate with his tackles, winning a whopping 93 percent of the tackles he's made (15 in all). For comparison, Carra has won a measly 58.3 percent of the tackles he's made (12 in all). Skrtel also has made the most clearances in our team. But this must mean he just hacks the ball on sight, giving away possession cheaply? Wrong. He has a pass accuracy of 83 percent, marginally behind Johnson and Agger. 14.8 percent of Skrtel's 324 passes have been long passes. Carra, on the other hand, has a passing accuracy of 77.8 percent with nearly 21 percent of his 325 passes going long (hoofs). Skrtel also wins nearly 86 percent of his aerial duels, the highest win-rate in our defence. However, Carra has exceptional positional sense and tactical nous, giving away only 3 fouls so far, Skrtel on the other hand has conceded 9.

i dont like the fact you compare every defender to Carra.
why not compare what Carra has achieved at Liverpool Compared to Skrtel?
i like both players, but comparing your own 2 center backs and actually talking shit about one of them is just plain *bleep* up.

Because we're not talking about the past. We're talking about the present.
There's no doubt Jamie is a legend of the football club, but as of now, he's a liabilty in our defence. He should be freezed out of the starting XI. He's way past his peak.
Skrtel and Agger have proved that they are a strong CB unit. Let's not risk us losing points in the league to benefit Jamie. No man is bigger than the club.
I said it a while ago, but I still believe our defence should be based around Skrtel. DAgger has way too many injuries. :\

Skrtel - Agger is the way to go for me. Carragher 3rd choice and hopefully Coates comes good. Hopefully Kelly will get to play some games as well, although that will probably be as RB then.

yeah I think Skrtel-Agger have the CB spots cemented for themselves....barring injuries, the two are by far our best bet in defense to get into CL next season

I am so happy that finally Skrtel and Agger are getting a run of games together. They have been amazing, a couple of months ago we were all saying we need another CB. I still think we do but I think that can wait after this transfer window.

For anyone who has followed my work, my Daniel Agger piece highlighted that Skrtel hasn't been bad at all this season.
He has been doing very well this season and more so alongside Agger. Carra is a still some sort of force, but not a starter anymore in my opinion.
