Yeah, but you also have to take into account Cotto's reach. He's going to have get in close to get good shots off, and i don't think Martinez will let him.

Maybe. But I dont rate Martinez jab so highly and I dont even think Martinez will run. He flicks the jab, no authority in it at all, he invites you to foolishly jump in. Dont think Cotto is stupid enough to just jump in.

Like against Chavez, even in serious trouble he didnt run, he circles, tamely flicks the job and looks to land something more heavy.

I think Cotto will have the defence to block or slip and then get inside. Its when he does get caught I worry about, his punch resistance is so poor after Margarito, even before then it wasnt great.

Cotto

Martinez got totally shalacked...dominated from minute 1. He is done.

Cotto was the better technical boxer in the middle and for damn sure his power hurt Martinez.

Great performance by Cotto who i thought was basically cashing out these last few fights, but he just revived his career in a big way. Good for him. I don't really see him defending his tittle vs a real MW again, maybe it will be on the the line if he faces Canelo. Look forward to seeing what he decides to do next.

Sad for Sergio, but he is done, he had a great run as champ, but it's time to hang em up.

Cotto - Canelo would be great. But much harder for him than Martinez was.

But Cotto rarely loses an out and out boxing match, even Floyd didnt dominant him in that area..I think Canelo at heart wants to be a boxer (see his Floyd fight) when he is much more dangerous as a puncher first and foremost.

Cotto can still be cracked by a come forward pressure fighter with a chin, thats not Canelo's style though so it would be an interesting fight.

Cotto better stay away from someone like GGG though, its a death sentence I fear.

Yeah speaking of Golovkin he should just go up to SMW. Nobody really wants it at 160. He might get some better fights there.

Canelo-Cotto is the obvious fight to make. I think it will go down even if Canelo loses to Lara. The fight would sell to well to not make it. I don't see a Mayweather rematch unless that pos tries to win the MW championship at some bs weight

Ward needs to get back in the game and take on GGG at SMW. Only guy you could really consider favourite against him.

GGG's popularity is rising fast. I'm considering going to the Geale fight, and they say tickets are selling pretty well.

Tbf Maidana deserved a rematch, i think most people "should" realize that.

In Maidana's situation im pissed after that performance and Floyd fights someone else irrelevant.

Talk of a GGG - Cotto fight in the future.

Please, Cotto....no.

That will be the end of his career.

I think the 'big surprise' will be Amir (can't make it in September because of Ramadan this month)...... In London

We know damn well it won't be Manny, so the only big surprise I can see is him fighting outside of the US for once

There is no way I will get the tickets if that fight happens. It will be sold out in hours.

It will be Mayweather vs Hatton all over again, but this time Khan is miles better opposition than Hatton was and should make Floyd retire.

haters, pls tread slowly.

I believe in Khan to give Floyd a really good fight, whether he can win or not remains to be seen.

Floyd will beat Chino convincingly this time around imo.

The problem with Khan vs Floyd though is Khan doesnt hit hard enough to make Floyd back up against the ropes.

Floyd will stand in the pocket and trade with him. And while Khan has fast hands, we seen a million times Floyd negate hand speed with intelligence and he will do it again.

Khan will be shocked because for the first time in his career, his fast hands dont mean anything because he is missing so often.

Floyd will stand in the pocket, use his elbows, pot shot him, walk him down and Khan will have to run. Cant beat Floyd on points if your running.

Dont see the power to hurt Floyd.

So really for someone to pick Khan you would have to be saying he would out box Floyd..and the day I see that happening will be the day Floyd indeed retires.

Based on talent, not what actually has happened in his career.

In his career the cold facts are Khan has only beaten old over the hill opponents (Zab Judah, Barrera, Malinaggi) and everytime he steps in with an in their prime puncher (Garcia, Maidana, Peterson), he gets knocked out or hangs on for dear life after getting smashed around the ring.

Has alot of talent though.

Actually come to think of it, in terms of his record and what he deserves, Khan dont even warrant a fight with Floyd.

His big mouth and huge fan base trumps that though in the boxing game.

I agree on the power side of Khan, he doesn't have heavy hands in the way Floyd would brick it. However I disagree on the speed side, I really do think his fast hands will cause Floyd some issues (Zab fight as a comparison).

Khan has a mental block, I've always said this in how he always wants to prove he has a chin. This time around(if the fight happens) now with Hunter for a while, maybe he will stop being such a retard.

But that Zab fight, Floyd simple adjusted to what punches he was throwing after about the 4th round and then it was the usual shut out from that point. I would expect the same vs Khan, Khan give him some trouble for the first 3-5 and then get shut down.

Plus, that Zab fight I thought the biggest things which really bothered Floyd were not his speed. But that Zab fought dirty (Khan wont), and Zab made him miss alot with his great defence. Then Zab clocked him with a hard left hand.

Dont think Khan is capable of any of those 3 things. Wont fight dirty, dont have good defence dont have power.
