now to this thread in truth i wud love cr7 and wudnt doubt him but only if he plays exclusively as a striker and nothing more. he is the perfect allround striker but he thinks its better for the team to play as a winger rather than a striker. i am disappoint. striker mentality but in the wrong f****** position.

Wow, I didn't expect this thread to be revived again. People, I couldn't fault CR7 in the recent outings as the sole problem, the problem is in midfield at the moment. He actively participates in plays and crosses now, so I don't need to critisize his selfishness and that was my main problem with him Very Happy

I'm sorry, but he doesn't suck on the big stage. He should've scored at least once today, and even if he missed, you should really stop generalising. It's very hard for Ronaldo to do anything if he is outnumbered each time.

Outnumbered? Did you watch the match by any chance? Ronaldo was marked by one man - Dani Alves. Of course he's 3 times better than Ronaldo so that may *look* like Ronaldo is being marked by 3 men. Di Maria on the other hand was often genuinely marked by 3 men. HE was outnumbered, not Cristina.

I watched the game from start to finish. And you sure he was marked by Alves throughout the entirety of the match? No, he wasn't. He was faced against Puyol, as Alves was constantly down the right wing. I'm not saying every time he got the ball he was outnumbered, it's starting to become an annoying theme. The good thing though is that you're not relying on Ronaldo that much, to an extent. However, this bashing of Ronaldo is over the top. Yes, he's had a bad game against Barcelona, but did anyone actually expect him to flourish? No.

For now, I reckon we should unleash him in smaller games, start him in big games and sub him off if he plays poorly, and not start el clasicos until we begin winning them.
