except the match wasn't watched by the average chinese person, it was watched by the 60 mil of those who can afford satellite tv and are as good as potential customers as any american... poverty in china may be rampant but there are tons of people who can afford expensive stuff, hell half of the chinese students at my uni drive bmws with english plates...

In all seriousness, the Chinese audience don't pay a single cent for this. They all watched this game on free- to- air television channels, aka state- owned channels. The government paid a sh*tload of money for the rights, which is definitely a massive win for La Liga.
