Music this year has been a joke.

Is it just me or is the music this year full of shit that it isn't even funny? Whatever Rihanna,lady gaga,or lil Wayne sings gets into the charts.

more revisionist crap... pop music has been horrible since the beginning of time, if you know where to look you can find great music these days too... maybe if you actually develop a personal taste in music and dig deeper rather than listen to whatever comes out of your radio you'd realize you can still find good music

Majority of songs out there are piss poor imo. But there are some decent songs out there, like Che posted.

Good music will always be around, just like bad music will always be around. But it's 2011 and there are so many ways to get your music out there. If you put in the work, you will find good quality music. There are artists out there who believe in what they're doing and don't want to censor their message/music. I don't have the time to complain about the trash music, I treat that like forum trolls and just ignore it.

The radio and MTV are absolute garbage; Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Taio Cruz, Ke$ha, Selena Gomez [she is hot though], Miley Cyrus, LMFAO, Flo Rida, etc. should be shot...or at the very least banned from music.

I posted a thread a month ago, roughly, saying that Katy Perry tied Michael Jackson for having five songs off one album go to the number one spot.

I'm a fan of LMFAO, but I take them for what they are. What they lack in substance, they make up with great beats and dance moves.

I was feeling the same exact way as you, Master of Ceremonies definitely made things better
I don't want to live in a world where Styles isn't going hard.

@JuvenelCuore I do like electro/house/trance, but I don't know enough about it to judge. I would take your word over mine and would admit great beats was not the best choice of words. How do you rate Afrojack? That's like the only artist I know by name.

Afrojack is unreal, but see what I do not like is when DJ's like David Guetta, Afrojack, etc. become mainstream because the quality goes down. Kind of like being sellouts, in a way. I will show you some good music.

I cant stand LMFAO, I get a headache when I hear their music.

For a decade no?

That said, I am not a hipster, there is still some good tracks being produced. Probably newer generation will say that this music rocks. Who knows. People used to hate Rap of 90s and treated Nu Metal same decade as some kind of wierd thing. Well, I like both.


Btw, what definetely improved is electronic/dance music-probably the only genre that I find more appealing now than before. Rock, Rap, Pop Music all stagnated for me.

Bar some artists, the majority of modern bands you hear on the radio these days are bad.

I personally like Garage Rock/Indie bands (i'm not a hipster though) like The Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Good bands.

The overall quality of mainstream music has gone down, this can't be debated but there is still good music out there if you know where to look.

Coldplay released some good songs this year

Depends on your taste though. Quite a lot of people don't like Coldplay.

coldplay is the same thing that is on the radio with pretty lyrics....so much repeating,that Paradise song

I don't listen to Coldplay much but I really like their old stuff like Yellow and The Scientist. Their big hits.
