Solid performance with Lucas with Brazil. If he keeps playing like this, he could be a Liverpool icon soon. Absolute class. Can't believe I wanted him out. Embarassed

Six Liverpool youngsters saw their U17 World Cup dream end as England fell to a 3-2 quarter-final defeat to Germany on Monday night.

The Three Lions went 3-0 down in Mexico despite the best efforts of winger Raheem Sterling, who had two long-range efforts saved in the first half and created two excellent chance in the second.

Left-back Brad Smith was also on the pitch as England embarked on a commendable fight back with goals from Sam Magri (pen) and Hallam Hope - but it wasn't to be.

Adam Morgan, Matty Regan, Tyrell Belford and Jack Dunn were all unused subs on the night.

The six will now return home.

Have to say, that was a good effort for England, all six of them can keep their heads high.

Sterling is a gun. Very Happy

They would have had a far better chance if Morgan had started.England need a coach with brain before entering these tournaments.

Jordan Henderson scores in Englands U-21 6:0 win over Azerbaijan....john Flanagan also impressed playing full 90 minutes. Jonjo Shelvy came on and was very lively in his 15 minute substitute appearance.

Oh.....tbh Carroll has had a poor start to the campaign so I'm not surprised he was dropped....but it's better for us as he can train with the team and not risk an injury

Wilson conceded a penalty for Scotland against Czeck Republic yesterday in the 90th minuted which knocked out Scotland from qualification. The penalty was a blatant dive so unlucky Wilson.

And Bellamy is suspended for Engalnd match on tuesday.Good news for us now he has proper rest.

As far as i saw Adam was the only one who had a really bad game Sad goal.com even had him voted the Flop of the match Shocked

As Sepi said everyone else had a good game . . & also Hendo had a good game as the Captain of Eng U21 & scoring one cracker of a goal! Very Happy

To be fair to Adam Scotland play 4-6-0 formation like Birmingham. So its possible for a playmaker to shine for Scotland.he was lucky not to concede a clear cut penalty in the first half though.

Adam injury scare seems like a precautionary measure. He looked OK when he was substituted and its a dead rubber for Scotland on tuesday so they may not want to risk him unnecessarily .Hopefully he is fit for Stoke.

When is Denmark match.Has it happened did Agger came through safely. He scares me more than anyone during these international breaks Crying or Very sad

Here's hoping that Adam's injury is not serious, and he will play against Stoke this weekend. Much of our attack this year has been built on Adam's ability to distribute the ball. With Gerrard out until Tottenham and Meireles gone to London, I can see Hendo moving into a CM role with Kuyt on the right and Carroll partnering Suarez up top. This is one possibility:

Kuyt - Lucas - Hendo - Downing
- Carroll - Suarez -
Another would be a more traditional 4-2-3-1 that would look something like this:
Spearing/Shelvey - Lucas
Kuyt/Hendo - Hendo/Suarez - Downing
Carroll/Suarez
I just realized that the second option gives a LOT of options and varying looks depending on who slots in at what position. My money is on the latter.
