Ramires Santos Do Nascimento

I was not a fan of Ramires in midfield as noted many times. But i am a fan of what he does on the wings. He is the only wing player we have who makes constant great runs. Sturridge, Kalou, and Malouda should take note.

id rather essien at RB then ramires, as rmaires adds alot to our mid and at RB he'd be comparitively very limited in attack and ash would have to play more defensively too with ramires at RB

Woeful again last night. One of the worst footballers I've seen at Chelsea in a long time. He's a workhorse, nothing more. Awful passing, horrendous shooting, useless crossing, probably commits at least 5 bookable offenses with his attempted-tackles every match, etc. This guy will NOT be a starter under the next manager, mark my words.

He's just out of form and out of position, I maintain he's a boss in a 3 man midfield. He doesn't fit our system though.

One goal is proof of nothing. On a week-to-week basis, he's useless. A tremendous athlete but little to no technical ability whatsoever. Was dropped from the Brazil squad even for the shitty Confed Cup he's so bad.
Shocking that this is the guy you were saying 3 months ago we should base our entire team and set-up on next season.

We still can base the team around him and if we did it properly, it would work quite well.

You are basing his form off the last few months, He has done very well and was in amazing form late last season.

He wasn't played out of position today. At benfica he was a RM, and if he isn't good enough to play more than one position well then is he high enough quality for our team?

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and he's had some amazing moments for us but if he doesn't fit the style we are gearing towards in the future then surley it's a waste having somebody like him sitting on the sidelines?

For me his biggest asset is the way he can provide a different outlet with his pace on the counter, that's what I love seeing him do.

P.s don't take this as I don't like him, I'm just playing devils advocate

His counter attacking + his defensive capabilities( response time) has been immense. And most yellow cards he takes them for the team, barring some games where he is over excited and jumps around. But generally he has been a key player IMO. He has stopped a lot of chances at the midfield by running back selflessly and countering as well. He might be bad at shooting but still gives us positional advantage.

He's not a poor finisher, he's just inconsistant.

Ramires will take a lot of criticism for his performance today, but you can't expect a player that's been performing in a central position to have the timing and alignment down for a winger's responsibilities. Sure, he could and and should have done better at times. But I'll give him his customary A for effort and D+ for decision making.

Probably. I don't think he'll start every match(because of squad rotations) but I can see him contributing a whole lot to our success.

I wouldn't call him a sure starter but knowing Mourinho, he'll play a lot!

He's a CM. He fits in.

He's neither a naturally defensive player nor the DLP type. Add to that that he's technically inept and I have no idea where or how he fits in. With the way Mourinho plays the game, I could see how it would theoretically mesh well, but he's infinitely more suited to a 3-man central midfield.

I imagine he'll be used as our CM supersub. Also, anytime Mourinho wants to use the 4-3-3 he'll be a sure starter.
