I watched every game they played in the Olympics. He played in midfield along with Lucas Moura with Sandro holding. Neymar, Damiao & Hulk were the front three.


And he was fantastic.

So who do you think will be the starters in midfield most games?

Mou has always liked to have players in his midfield with big engines regardless of the form he used, ie Essien in a 4-3-3 at Chelsea and Khedira in a 4-2-3-1 at RM. Imo Ramires is a mou type of player, and i think he'll be given the first crack at one of the pivot spots.

Nishank, its hard to say atm, although if i had to take a stab, id say that over the first six weeks of the season we'll see a fair bit of Lampard because mou will want his experience for the big games we have at the start of the season. Also i think Ramires and possibly MVG will see some good minutes early in the season too.

Short of it, we have no clue. All of Mikel, Lampard, Ramires and MVG could be starters.

Dont say that about oscar, I still have high hopes that mou has grand plans for oscar- especially after the confederations cup.

Does anyone feel that Ramires may be a liability for the future? Currently and in the past he has been a very important player especially in the "big" games, but he really is a box-to-box midfielder with no technical skill. In a 4-2-3-1 he fits in the central midfield role but I am of the opinion that we could do with a more technically gifted player. If we have someone like Witsel (who I am assuming has a good work rate and is also very technical) paired with Mikel at the CM positions then in my opinion that will be very effective. Mikel sits back while the other guy roams up front. Currently with Ramires and Lampard we are not as solid as I feel we should be. However, Ramires seems undroppable because he is a very good player but perhaps selling him and buying someone else with that money would be good business.

No, I personally don't, Ramires has shown that he can hold when he needs to under Jose, He has done the DM job very well imo.

Witsel isn't the playmaker we need, he is more of a technical DM from what I gather. If we could get someone like Cabaye to put next to Ramires, I think we'd be fine.
