People really think Sterling isn't going to start? He is competing with Navas for a RW position. Navas has the worst finishing and crossing from a winger I have ever seen.

Should easily get 30 PL starts this season. Going to be nice seeing him link up with Aguero and all that pace on the counter attacking

For all their monies, surely even Citeh won't cough up that kind of money for a back-up

that's not the correct correspondance though.

You signed Firmino for 40m €, sold Sterling for 70m € (of which you get 55-60). That's not terrible.

That you need another decent striker with Sturridge out is on another page, I can't see how Benteke is so infinitely worse business than other available options.

City signed him for 49m pounds. 9.8m pounds goes to QPR (20% sell on). 5m pounds goes to Sterling as a loyalty bonus.

And Benteke is average.

Decent player, but not decent for Liverpool. Doesn't suit our style at all, and has literally no experience for a top side. He's fought a relegation battle since he's been in England ffs.

Benteke sucks for a top club. It's just idiotic that Liverpool would sign him. I can't understand what's going on in liverpool scouts head. They are only signing crap the last 10 years with a couple of exceptions (Suarez, Torres... Henderson? Johnson?)

it is fine for a 20 year old to have a bad finishing but for a team who want to challenge for a title and for a player who has cost them 49m, that is where it is going to be problematic for City if he doesnt improve on those things !
But on the other hand, he will be training with Augeuro, silva so it would make a difference compared to Liverpool.

His price isnt going to matter aslong as City have patience. If they expect a complete 20 year old player just because he cost that, then they are just stupid.

If they understand what they have and understand the signed him not for one season, but many, then he will probably improve and end up somewhat worth the money.

Problem is, City have more money than sense. They could easily give up on him after just 1 or 2 seasons and sign another player instead, leaving him on the bench to never progress.

but as you point out 5 times a day. the club is shit. the manager is shit. and the team is shit. so we don't have any chance of getting a top talent anyway. so its benteke or nothing.

what top club did he play for.

why are people so against benteke. he is a safe bet if Liverpool buy him. played and done well in the prem lge for a few years so no chance of him not taking to a new lge. proven goal scorer. still only 24yo. and been a stand out player in a relagation fighting team. its funny how people seem to think sterling will improve playing with better players at city. but no one thinks benteke will be even better at Liverpool playing with better players.

However, it's like assured he will score more than 6 goals, like Liverpool top scorer last season, so he'll definitely improve your strike force.

Benteke is no different from Balotelli, Lambert and co.

He doesnt fit in Liverpool tactics and style of play.

If he was available for 15m , then worth taking a risk, but paying over 30m for him is a huge risk.

Liverpool management are not patient on transfer market.

I remember when spurs spent 30 mil on a world class striker from spain. how did he turn out. benteke has a strike rate of a goal every 2 games in the prem lge for villa. if he can even better that by 10% at Liverpool id say that's far from a donkey
