not saying RMessi does not get marked or anything

but some people ignore the fact that ronaldo gets heavily marked

think about it, why will defenders let roanldo roam them then when the face Barca decide to over mark messi?

Ronaldo has 4 players on him everytime mate, every damn time

he just finds ways to sprint them it looks easy

don't wanna start an arguement

Dude I''m giving them both respect in this thread. Just watch any of the clasico's and you will see who gets marked more.

I agree Ronaldo does get marked more then most players in the world but not near as much as Messi. Hell if you shut Messi down, you have a pretty good shot at beating Barca. The same cannot be said about Madrid these days and that's a compliment.

In 99% of the situation Ronaldo does NOT get marked by 2 or more players. Like I said, I have allot of information on paper. If you would really like to argue this, please go ahead and give some decent arguments, examples etc. I will counter it.

His runs in this match reminded me old Messi. If he stops being lazy then nobody can stop him. If he wins 5 th ballon dor then he will be lazy again. Too much praise destroys you. sometimes you need criticism to perform

Messi makes the extraordinary looks ordinary and therefore boring

Just bump a thread about him instead of making a new one though.

CUZ I AM A MADRID FAN SINCE 2001, AND I WATCH THEIR GAMES EVERYWEEK FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS..

Ronaldo gets heavily marked, but like I said earlier, madrid's counter attack style makes it hard to mark him cuz you are literally sprinting with him

jeez

I wouldnt want Messi to do that sort of thing every match because it'll increase his chances of getting injured. I aslo think the coaching staff are okay with him taking it easy in certain games.

Ofc he is human and may get too complacent at times , but Im okay with his work-rate atm / or this season.

So to understand, in a thread discussing Messi and his performances of late you have brought up Jack Wilshire and Ronaldo.

HHHHHmmmmmmm, that makes sense. I mean are you trying to derail the thread?

It's incredible that he has 42 goals with 10 games to go.
His football today was awesome, he was fast, composed, worked hard and played for the team.
We are blessed for being able to watch him.

I read that he is the first player in history to score 42+ goals in a top league for two seasons.

Dnmac, how old are you? Just curious as you say you are "older".

On the other hand, don't mention that Alexis should be sold. For some reason his constant floping and tap in missing is seen by many Barça posters as a "good sign" and a reason he should be a starter.

You obviously dont know what you are talking about. In the last Classico's Messi was getting zonal marked and was only able to get a ball played while facing Valdes, whenever he turned around he already had 2 defenders in front and 1 midfielder in his back. Mourinho was able to withdraw 2 defenders for Messi because there was no treat from another attacker. Same with the first match against AC Milan - he triple-marked Messi, because he did not fear the other attacker. When in the second match David Villa showed up - Villa himself kept 2 defenders on the back line, and with Alves on the side line, giving Messi a huge amount of space between the back and mid-line.

No, that would actually make sense and would be talking about the topic of the thread. I even stated he only gets mentioned when he has a bad game. So again that would make sense.

Jack Wilshire and Ronaldo don't make sense.

Alexis is not worse or better then Pedro, though last couple of games he has been slightly better.

I think one reason Messi was so good these last couple of games is having someone like Vila there. If all depends on him scoring, marking him with 3-4 players does the job. But if others score, no one will ever stop him from scoring or creating.

Btw, i think his shots from the edge of the box have improved in power.
