Roma idea excites Soriano
Barcelona B striker Jonathan Soriano is interested in following Luis Enrique to Italian side Roma.
Enrique has been appointed as the new Giallorossi Coach and Soriano is one of a number of players that he’d like to sign from his now former club.
“There has been contact,” the forward’s agent Stefano Caira told Centro Suono Sport on Thursday afternoon.
“The player, who was one of the most important in Enrique’s side, is of interest and the boy would be happy with a move to Rome.
“I have spoken to [Roma sporting director Walter] Sabatini about it, but it is just an idea at this moment in time.
“It would be a great move for him, but, I repeat, there is no negotiations taking place presently. It’s too soon for that.”
Soriano, formerly of Espanyol, has been with Barcelona B since 2009, scoring 50 goals in 67 League games. He is 25-years-old.

Menez to join Leo at PSG?
Paris Saint-Germain are being touted as a possible destination for Roma’s Jeremy Menez this summer.
According to reports, the Frenchman could be Inter boss Leonardo’s first signing once he completes his switch to PSG as the club’s new sporting director.
The future of Menez at the Stadio Olimpico is in real doubt, three years after arriving from French outfit Monaco.
He started the campaign well under previous boss Claudio Ranieri, but then lost his way once Vincenzo Montella took over.
The appointment of Luis Enrique as new Coach has only increased the doubts over Menez’s stay in the capital.
“Menez will have to accept that the Coach will use him in a certain way,” stated new sporting director Walter Sabatini. “If he does that then he will stay.”
Milan have also been paired with the attacking midfielder in recent weeks.

Napoli told to sign Lamela
Former Napoli striker Roberto Sosa has advised the Azzurri to sign River Plate youngster Erik Lamela.
“Napoli and Argentines have a special relationship,” the South American pundit told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The dream is Lamela of River. He is 19 and if you offer a little bit more than he is worth then you can sign him.
“He is a really strong player who has understood at River what it is like to play under real pressure. He’s been in a relegation battle this season, but the boy reacted well.
“Erik is irresistible with the ball at his feet and in a couple of years he will be worth three times the amount he is now.”
The teenager is considered as a rising star of the Argentine and South American game.
Lamela is being valued at €12m and has also attracted the interest of Roma, Lazio and Milan in recent times.

I think Lamela needs another year in Argentina before making the jump to Europe, though I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we do sign him.

Doni rejects Liverpool terms
There are reports Alexander Doni has rejected an offer from Liverpool, while Julio Sergio’s agent denies talks with Genoa and Siena.
Roma have confirmed they will bring in a top new goalkeeper over the summer, so must place some of their current players.
Last week the Giallorossi confirmed they had agreed a fee with Liverpool for Brazilian Doni, so he has been in talks over personal terms.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the 31-year-old has turned down the €900,000 per season contract, as he currently earns €2.5m at Roma.
He is also of interest to Galatasaray should they fail to secure a deal for Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
Another of Roma’s shot-stoppers, Julio Sergio, has been heavily linked with Serie A sides Genoa and Siena.
“We have not received any proposals from Genoa or Siena,” said agent Alessandro Lucci.
“We are discussing the situation and trying to find the best solution for Julio, as he is eager to play first team football. He has interest from Italy and overseas.”

Roma confirm Bojan 'next week'
Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini confirms “we hope to complete the signing of Bojan Krkic in the next few days.”
The Barcelona and Spain forward is one of the hottest young talents in La Liga, but has far too much competition for places at the Nou Camp.
“It’s true and I confirm this is a very realistic hypothesis, even if it has not been perfected yet,” Sabatini told Rete Sport.
“We hope to complete the signing of Bojan in the next few days.”
He is the first Barcelona figure to follow new Coach Luis Enrique to Roma, as more are expected, particularly from Barcelona B.
Spanish newspapers expect Bojan to arrive for €10m, although Barça want a clause allowing them to buy him back for €12m.
Meanwhile, Sabatini also commented on other transfer issues surrounding the Giallorossi.
“Ricky Alvarez is a very strong and versatile player. We are monitoring him, as with other players. You may have noticed a sort of paralysis in the transfer market, but we expect a domino effect once the first move goes through.”
Mirko Vucinic’s agent confessed “something has broken” with Roma and is in preliminary talks with both Juventus and Premier League sides.
“Vucinic is a great player and knows he is important for Roma, so we will find a point of balance. He is precious for this club.”

I would reallyyyy prefer a loan with an option to buy for Bojan so we could test him out in Serie A first to see how and if he adapts.

So would i even said that a few days back...It would be a stupid move to fork out 10 million ( Incase he flops ) which could very well happen...Hopefully Sabatini will strike up a deal with a loan - option to buy...ErPupone wrote:I would reallyyyy prefer a loan with an option to buy for Bojan so we could test him out in Serie A first to see how and if he adapts.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Tuttomercatoweb claims that we've agreed terms on a co-ownership deal with Pescara's 19-year old attacking midfielder Marco Verratti.
We'll pay in total 1.2 million for the youngster, who is considered a bright talent in Serie B.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Here are a few updates on the rumours surrounding our club.
Incoming
-Cagliari have acquired the remainder of Davide Astori from Milan for 4 million euros. Astori is now said to be one of our priorities in defense.
-Roma are interested in Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara, Jeffren and Montoya. However, Chelsea are said to be in pole position to acquire Thiago while Jeffren wants to remain in Barcelona after refusing to go to Udinese. Montoya would also like to stay with Barca, however Luis Enrique may be the key in getting the Spanish U-21 defender to the Italian Capital.
-According to Tuttomercato, Sabatini will be meeting with the agent of Shalke 04's Jermaine Jones tomorrow. The American's contract is set to expire over the summer.
-Sabatini has reportedly offered Arsenal 8.5 million euros for Gael Clichy. The Gunners are asking for 12 million euros.
-According to Sky Sport 24, Roma is on the trail of 23 year old Penarol striker Alejandro Martinuccio.
Outgoing
-Lecce have exercised their option to co-own Andrea Bertolacci. Roma have until June 25th to exercise their right to buy him back at a fixed cost.
- According to Tuttomercato, Livorno and Sampdoria are interested in Roma Primavera captain Alessandro Florenzi. Roma, though, are only willing to let the youngster go out of loan.
- Sky Sport are saying that Stefano Pettinari is close to joining Crotone on loan. An announcement should be made in the coming days.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Good stuff as usual, Mike.
- Really don't see Cag giving up their best defender after buying him fully from Milan. We could easily get him for under 10m though and I think we should go for it.
- I'd love to see us get Montoya. He's looked quite good in the U-21 Champs, if still rather untested out-right. He wants to stay in Spain though so ultimately it will be up to the club itself. He's definitely go aways towards solving our RB problem though.
-Jones had a fine game tonight against Panama. Has really been a good player for both USA and for Blackburn. For a player that grew up in Germany and played all of his football there up until this year, he's looked out of his depth there and right in it in England with us. In Italy however, I don't think we'll get him honestly. He's a bit too similar to De Rossi.
- I'd love to see us get Clichy, even though he prefers to stay in England. Would provide exactly the kind of competition that Riise needs.
- Martinuccio has been one of the best players in the Copa Libertadores as well as Penerol's top striker. His fee will be quite low as well, but he's got many suitors so he won't be easy to get.
--------------------------------------------
- Wouldn't want to see Bertolacci go and I don't think we will let him go. We've come out and said a week or so ago that he will not be sent out on loan again. He'll slot right in and take Greco's place, should he move on.
- Florenzi's another one that should probably stay on. A loan would be a good option for him if our midfield gets too crowded, but I'd love to see him continue his great form and get some minutes in with the big boys. Either way, the kid's earned his shot at the big time.
- Pettinari didn't have the best of times with Siena honestly. Didn't get a lot of time in really. Another loan should do him well and let's hope he can break into the side this time.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Tomorrow is the last day to resolve any remaining co-ownership deals. For that reason, many of Serie A's sporting directors and agents are at the ATA Hotel Executive, the usual meeting place for negotiations and transfers. The first two rumours to be heard concern two keepers: Curci seems very likely to make a return to Rome, however he might once again be loaned out for the season. The other keeper being discussed is Viviano; Bologna advisor Salvatore Bagni says that a deal should be struck with Inter before going on to the blind auction.
Also, Walter Sabatini is set to meet Shaqiri's agent today.

We seem to be dropping out of the race for Ricky Alvarez. Arsenal have emerged as the front-runners now with Velez asking for 15 million for the midfielder, which is going to be enough to scare off us and Inter and Milan.
Alvarez's agent is expected to fly to London to meet with Arsenal representatives.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Aside from Gianluca Curci, Stefano Guberti may also make his way back to Roma tomorrow, as he supposedly has a role in Luis Enrique's plans. If not, Emanuele Giaccherini is another player being watched carefully, though Fiorentina are also interested.
As for Xherdan Shaqiri, the Swiss youngster is said to be interested in going to the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich, HSV and Bayer Leverkusen apparently interested in his services. Only if none of these teams make an offer will he consider joining us. Therefore, the chances of seeing Shaqiri in a Roma jersey are very slim.

Sabatini had a short meeting with Alvarez's agent today, while our interest in Marco Verratti was also confirmed.
Lamela, meanwhile, risks being suspended after punching an opponent in the final minutes of River Plate's last match.
