Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Bovo to fill Mexes role?
football-italia.net
Palermo’s Cesare Bovo is being suggested as a possible replacement for Philippe Mexes at Roma.
The Frenchman has left the Stadio Olimpico outfit after joining Italian champions Milan on a Bosman transfer.
Bovo is subsequently being mentioned as a target, but his agent admits that it is dependant on who the capital club appoint as Coach.
“Who they get as boss matters,” Franco Zavaglia told Radio Radio. “If it is [former Palermo tactician] Delio Rossi then yes Bovo may arrive.
“There are several outfits who are following Bovo, but it is Palermo who must make the decision on his future.
“If the President [Maurizio Zamparini] were to get an important offer for him then he would probably consider it.
“Cesare has been in Palermo for three of four years and he still has two years left on his present contract.
“However, it is only natural that the ambition of almost every player is to play in teams fighting for the top positions and playing in Europe.”

It seems a done deal based on English papers . Around 1 mil ( pounds ) the fee .
Is he any good for a back up keeper ? Also how old is he ?

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Doni rather average for a keeper....
His handling is average....his distribution is rather poor....and he flaps constantly at set-pieces and crosses and will often miss the ball completely....
His best attribute is that he's a very good shot stopper. His reflexes are still pretty good.
He's 32 now I think.

Is it just me or was Loria not terrible the last few games of the season? He looked quite solid to me and even scored some crucial goals...

Milan to make Menez offer
Italian champions Milan could be on the verge of signing Roma enigma Jeremy Menez, according to Mediaset.
Menez may quit the Stadio Olimpico outfit this summer, three years after arriving from French outfit Monaco.
According to the story, the Rossoneri officials have already agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.
Milan, who it is said are confident of landing the player for less than €10m, will now have to reach an agreement with Roma once the club’s takeover is completed.
Meanwhile, Milan are also being linked with Barcelona left-back Maxwell by reports on Tuesday.
The Brazilian defender, represented by agent Mino Raiola who works closely with Milan, is seemingly available.
However, the latter could only arrive if fellow summer signing Taye Taiwo is handed a French passport in order to free up a non-EU spot in the squad.

Vucinic in Juventus link
Juventus have re-ignited their interest in Roma striker Mirko Vucinic, according to Italian reports.
Sky Sport Italia claims that the Bianconeri yesterday held exploratory talks with the player’s agent Alessandro Lucci.
The striker’s future in Rome is in some doubt as he has yet to be told whether he has a part to play in the new Roma project.
The former Lecce ace, who is contracted to the capital city club until 2013, earns over €4m a season before tax.
He is believed to have caught the attention of Juventus given that the Turin giants are looking to grab a big-name striker this summer.
The Juve link has emerged just days after the player’s representative dismissed suggestions of a switch to Fiorentina.
Lucci admits that he has spoken to Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, but not about the Roma striker.
“Corvino and myself did have a conversation, but we did not discuss Vucinic,” he told Firenzeviola.it. “Or any other of my clients for that matter.
“It was just a friendly meeting between us, a chance for us to exchange some opinions about the game.
“It’s nice to know that a club such as Fiorentina rate Vucinic, but, I repeat, Corvino did not ask me for him.
“Also, it is clear that before anything I will firstly need to hold talks with the new Roma owners about their plans.”
The Montenegro striker scored 10 goals in 28 League appearances for the Giallorossi this season.

Liverpool agree Doni fee
Premiership side Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee with Roma for goalkeeper Alexander Doni.
Sky Sport 24 makes the claim, adding that it is now up to the Brazilian whether to accept the move or not.
Roma are set to sign a new ‘keeper this summer after Julio Sergio and Doni shared the gloves last term under Claudio Ranieri and Vincenzo Montella respectively.
With the young Coach now gone, Doni doesn’t figure heavily in the thinking of the Eternal City outfit.
This is Roma’s last chance to net significant money for the custodian seeing as his contract expires in 2012.
The Brazilian international joined the Giallorossi in 2005 from Juventude.
Doni became a regular in Rome, but eventually lost his place to Julio Sergio in 2009-10 as a result of injuries and mediocre form.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Selling two of our best players to our direct rivals Milan? Dumbest thing i have ever heard.
Same goes with Vucinic.
If sell, then abroad.

Completely agree. This is one of the things that really annoys me about italian football. If were going to sell one of our top players it should be to another league not to our rivals ..ffs

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Radio Mana Mana reports that Jonathan Soriano is open to a move to Roma with Luis Enrique, but Barcelona have slapped a 10 million euro buy-out clause on his contract.
We're also considering Jeffren Suarez, another of Barcelona's star youth players.

Yeah, that's true. I personally wouldn't mind Jeffren Suarez too....I've liked him when I've seen him play....very positive runner and good with the ball at his feet.

Jefren is the king of self-injured players, if there was an award for that, he would be the winner, no competition. It happens in La Liga so often, imagine him in Serie A, NO THANKS!

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Jeffren is not much good and Soriano will surely sign a new contract soon. Apparently he will fill the soon to be void of Puyol leaving.
Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
CDS reports that Sabatini, will talk with the Cesena president to bring Emanuele Giaccherini to Roma
Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Enrique is looking to bring Bojan Krkic, recently linked with a move to Udinese in the Sanchez deal, with him to Roma.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
^^ It's all good and all to get a young striker, but in reality it would be just a loan spell. We need to give D'Alessandro a chance. Besides, I read that Krkic has something ridiculous like a 100 million buyout clause.
Really it's anyone's guess who comes to Rome this summer. I just hope we can hold on to all of our core players(sans Vucinic) , who I think are quality.
