This will be the 4th time Atleti and Athletic meet at a final - Athletic have won every time so far.

You know it would happen. Historically the Catalans struggled vs our Selekzioa and a club match is no different. When Barca were 2-0 up I wasn't worried the slightest. Cause unlike the many other clubs who cower in fear vs the Best team of all time, Basques, or more specifically, Sociedad never back down vs Barcelona thus amounting to Barca's first domestic loss.

Athletic Club have obviously their own problems to sort out and have taken the backseat, Osasuna have shown to face the consequences of ignoring their own footballing philosophy and paying for it. Meanwhile Phillip Montanier who born in Vernon but growing up in Bayonne in French Euskadi has brought Clemente's and Denioux's Basque apporoach back into La Real and has reaped its benefits as evidenced by Marcelo Bielsa of last year.

Now La Real are the single most attractive club to watch within Espana after the obvious Barcelona. With Montanier's 4-2-3-1 fusion of cohesive pressing and lung busting attack utilizing the famous Basque jokoa aldatzeko and Xabi Preito as the vision, instinct and heart of the play after legendary Aranburu left, Montanier has created a side which has brought the expectations of the old Sociedad which dominated the upper echelons of Spanish Football.

I once said to my man Rebano on how the Anoeta is truly impregnable, he agreed without a seconds thought.

Like me, Free joined me at the Anoeta tonight for our annual trip to Anoeta to witness his team's first domestic loss. I hope you attend every Sociedad game now Free. Laughing

Have a Txakoli with an aged txueleton with a side of Gateau Basque. It'll make pain worthwhile. Smile

Gora Euskadi.

Quite frankly we need to see such gestures being performed more often within the dog-eat-dog sporting world. Very proud of Anaya for such sportsmanship.

Speechless over here, that was a terrific story and it's good to see people with that type of mentality out there. Why go for the win when you know you didn't earn it? I know that I wouldn't be able to (nor would I want) to win anything under such circumstances.

He would have earned the victory by having a higher IQ than the Kenyan.

Intelligence is an attribute in sports too you know.Sports isn't just about physical attributes.

If that was me I would have ran past him and celebrated my well deserved victory.

Higher IQ? Intelligence? What?

Anaya simply didn't capitalize on the arbitrary mistake of the Kenyan by not exploiting his 10M mistake. Anaya wouldn't deserve the victory if he crossed the line based on taking a minor technical mistake but instead showed class and sportsmanship to boost the runner into the victory he earned.
