Good day will become an even better one by winning on Wednesday. Then we'll be 5 clear of Spurs and Newcastle and 7 ahead of Chelsea.

If we beat Wolves, Wigan and Chelsea (our next three games), it will be mathematically impossible for us to finish below Chelsea.

If we win those three games and Spurs and Newcastle drop 5 points (i.e one draw and one defeat) we will be guaranteed 3rd place.

Incidentally, neither Spurs, Chelsea or Newcastle play this weekend while we do (on the Monday afterwards, anyway), so all going well we could be 10 points clear of Chelsea and 8 ahead of Spurs and Newcastle by next week. It's a great opportunity to really put the pressure on them.

LOL Jay you have 3rd on lock, no one is catching you its just a question of how many points.

4th is a lot closer obviously, Tottenham while they have an easy run in seem to enjoy bottling it atm Laughing

We are in the best form of anyone ( won 5 on the spin) but our last 3 games are very difficult on paper......

Reckon Chelsea will burn out because of the fixture list, if we avoid defeat against them we will finish above them of that iam certain.

Now do us a favour and beat them next week so we have the opportunity to go 5 points clear of them Very Happy

Still reckon Spurs will cling on to 4th but i hope iam wrong, do reckon we will do enough to get 5th tho.

It's a very exciting end to the season, the race for 3rd and 4th.

Arsene Wenger, and us fans, will fully expect Arsenal to beat Wolves and Wigan, but as ever, it's one game at a time.

Good day for us, but only if we beat Wolves.

I might be wrong here, but i think since Mccarthy was sacked we are the only team to drop points against Wolves.

 2-0 up at home, i just cant get over that diabolical f*ck up

Don't think we've got 3rd on lock just yet. A loss against Chelsea and the whole thing is flipped. The Wolves game is extremely dangerous too, they haven't won in ages, and they're gonna come out like caged dogs on Wednesday.

Great day today though, would have liked a Chelsea loss, but with the FA trying its hardest to get Chelsea a CL spot, I'm content with the draw.

Hopefully Newcastle can keep it going, would love to see Cisse in the CL, he's an absolute monster in the final third. Plus it would give them a financial boost to pick up some quality players and potentially knock down Pool and Spurs even further next year.

Next two games are a relegation team who haven't won in their past 9 at home

and Wigan at home, anything but two victories for the Arsenal will be bottling it plain and simple Rival Watch - Page 29 1625187496

Fulham could have easily beaten Chelsea if they had played with a traditional No.9. They had no 1 holding the ball up for them in the final third. Dempsey tried but he's more of a midfielder and dropped too far back to get the ball meaning the Chelsea backline was not really troubled.

If it had not been for the Dodgy penalty awarded to Chelsea, I dont think they would have scored.

Cause over the past couple of weeks, they've looked more like dogs rather than Wolves Razz

Chelsea under Di Matteo have sorted themselves out defensively above anything else. Their attack is still lacking some chemistry, and I don't think its something they'll find by starting Kalou and Torres.

Playing against a 3 man defence will be an interesting prospect, as I do not recall any situation where we've actually gone up against one. 3-4-3 is a formation you never see in England.

Undoubtedly, the two wide men in the "4" will drop deep and create a 5 at the back, and Maloney and Moses will provide the width. So essientially we'll probably face a 5-4-1.

It'll be a tough game but I don't expect to actually have that much trouble against them. The midfield of Song, Arteta and probably Rosicky should be able to play around United's pressure, while Sagna will do the job marking out Maloney and supporting Walcott. The trick against 3 man defences is to use width and pace in order to suck them out of position, so if we play quickly with Walcott and preferebly one of Gervinho or Ox we should do well.

Our rivals? They are all not in league action this weekend.

Chelsea v Spurs (Sunday 6pm) in FA cup semi-final.

Newcastle v Stoke is not until next weekend.

Opportunity to go 8 points clear of Spurs/Newcastle, 10 clear of Chelsea, when we face Wigan on Monday night.
