He was involved in producing all the 3 goals for Germany. Scoring the first (what a goal!!), putting a nice touch to start the counter attack for the second goal, and assisting the third for Gomez. At the same time I didn't think he's fully recovered from his injury yet, noticed some very weird unusual misspasses by Ozil.

Stunning shot !! ground to air missile !!
Ozil seemed like he was suffering from something during the match but this didn't stop him from shining and be the MOTM.
I forecast a big Euro from him, a Ballon d'or in the near future as well.

How low can el Mundo go?

this low.

El Mundo Deportivo reports that midfielder Mesut Ozil has grown increasingly unhappy at Real Madrid and is seeking a way out of the Santiago Bernabéu at the end of the season.

According to the newspaper, Inter Milan have already been in contact and have asked to be kept informed of any developments concerning the German international, although Madrid President, Florentino Pérez, will attempt to get the player to reconsider his position.

It goes on to say that sources in Madrid believe Ozil is too inconsistent and only plays his best football when he is with the German national team, for whom he scored a superb goal against Belgium in a 3-1 win on Tuesday night following a pass from Real Madrid teammate Sami Khedira.

Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport reported on Tuesday that Inter were actively looking at replacements for Dutch central midfielder and former Real Madrid player Wesley Sneijder, who was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer and whose ultimate destination is still likely to be England.

Ozil’s problems in Madrid appear to stem from the fact that Kaká has started to rediscover the form that prompted Real to pay €68.5m for his signature from AC Milan in July, 2009, believing that the Brazilian superstar holds an advantage over him in that he would be chosen ahead of him, if only for economic and image rights reasons. Consequently, the 22-year-old now feels he could be spending more and more time on the bench and that he is no longer a permanent fixture in José Mourinho’s starting line-up.

The German was a key part of Mourinho’s plans last season, scoring six goals in 36 league appearances, but this term he has so far failed to complete a full 90 minutes in any game - six in La Liga and two in the Champions League; he was also on the bench for the games with Levante and Rayo Vallecano.

Although he has not lived up to expectations at the start of this season, Ozil is still one of the most sought-after members of Mourinho’s squad and Los Blancos would ask for between €30m and €35m if he does indeed get his wish of a move, representing a healthy profit on the €15m he cost when signed from Werder Bremen in August last year.

Real have also been unhappy with statements attributed to the player’s father in which he said: “My son runs between 12 and 14 kilometres every game, collects the ball deep and then distributes it forward, which requires much expenditure of energy. Look at how Barca play. There they have 10 players working for Messi. At Real Madrid, Mesut wears the same No 10 [shirt] but the rest don’t work for him.”

Ozil himself also confessed to German publication Bild in October, 2009 that “my dream is to play for Barcelona,” a declaration which was unsurprisingly not well received by Real Madrid supporters.

Even if it's true, which I doubt, it honestly won't matter.
Not every one in the locker room is 110% happy every day, just like not every employee at a workplace is 110% happy 24/7. Yet, you don't see employees leave their workplace after only one day of feeling 80% happy.

Fark, he always pulls out the long shots in internationals. Germany versus Ghana anyone?

I reckon Ozil should be more selfish with the ball if it's advantageous to be selfish. Seeing as how CR7 is becoming a better team player these days, we need to see everyone else make the most of this generosity.

If Ozil continues his assisting streak, attacking dominance and begins to score goals near the numbers of Lampard (in his prime), he'll be a top 5 Ballon D'or contender just next year IMO.

It looked like he took more risks when playing with his NT.
It's funny that in his last three matches with Germany NT Ozil's risky attempts to shot were always work.

Azerbaijan for 1:0

Austria for 1:0 (even though the goal was recorded as Klose goal)

start at 0:20

And Belgium as already posted.

He pulled some pretty awesome moves.
Him and Marcelo probably are the most entertaining dribblers on our team.

Ozil's play is more cultured and controlled he thinks ten steps ahead and you always get the feeling that he already knows what he'll do before he does it.

Marcelo is out of control and much more spur of the moment in his play. He'll improvise as opposed to think about it. His style of play is more natural.

Both are a joy to watch though. So sexy.

From 10-12 official matches we played this season, imo Ozil was indeed underperformed in the following matches: Zagreb, Racing, & Espanyol.
The 2 most recent ones, Betis & Lyon were not his best games but he's still effective in both of those, especially Lyon. Calling him underperformed for those 2 is a bit an overstatement to me & it's not only him alone that wasn't at their best in those 2 games.

The only reliable source I found regarding Jose called him out is when Jose made press conference before Rayo game, saying that Ozil wasn't at his best againts Zagreb & Racing. Jose seemed to mention it because the press asked about that matter rather than he mentioned it out of the blue to intentionally make a public criticism though. And Ozil has already performed very well in the 2 following matches after that press conference as we saw in Rayo & Ajax matches.
