He is back. Just as I promised you
I haven't been online here all day, and not even looked at the general forum, for obvious reasons and shambles at WHL, from the minute (ugh, those days happen)...but I just wanted to make this thread and promise one thing.
You may laugh at his miss for days to come (and I did, while I wanted him to score it)...but he was Chelsea's best player today. Talking about a certain Spaniard.
AVB has finally figured out how to play him...YES, Passing in space, and not passing in feet. Certain players like Suarez are better with ball at their feet, Torres needs it in space. He was a consistent pain in United's backline, with better luck he could have had a hattrick.
For all those who made threads every day mocking him..get ready to eat humble ties. 2 assists and 1 goal in the last 2 games, including a MOTM performance. all in 2 games >>> better than the last 20 he's had and now he is finally blonde.
I conclude...if Torres has scored less than 12 league goals by the end of 2011 (which means by Boxing day fixtures)..I'll fully retire from GoalLegacy and you can enjoy the life without me (which I am sure you won't mind )
Feel free to bookmark this thread.....Sad and Happy to see Nando back...hope Andy follows the same routine (Cracking LB tbh)

Re: He is back. Just as I promised you
You expect him to score 11 LEAGUE goals in the next 3 and a 1/2 months Sepi? A bit ambitious considering we have Anelka and Drogba in reserve.
Great thread btw. He's lacking the confidence that Aguero, Dzeko, Rooney have atm but as you can see from his last two performances and our first game of the season against Stoke the talent is clearly still there.
Hope he ignores the pathetic English media who are so eager for him to fail and produces another performance like that against Fulham/Swansea next week.

Re: He is back. Just as I promised you
He's almost back. If only he didn't miss that... After his first goal he was brimming with confidence, I hadn't seen him play like that in ages
If this doesn't get to his head then I think he is going to have a killer season... I hope at least.
lol he just can't seem to catch a break.

I don't think the miss would drag him back. After his miss he looked angry, but not depressed or lost like he was in his first season after he missed every chance. I believe he is back.

It's very hard to prove a very high price tag. Even Ronaldo hasn't proven his price tag. Sure he's scored so many goals but all he has won you is a Copa del Rey. I would expect better from a 80m player.

One players is not responsible for the follies of the team. Ronaldo did what he had to do most of the time, while Toress did not. I hope no malice towards any player, and I hope Toress turns around, but as things stand Toress is looking like a bad investment.
If you however mentioned Kaka instead of Ronaldo, you would be correct. Even though Kaka had to deal with injuries Toress did not have to deal with.

dude cmon now, i expect good reasoning behind your posts, not some non sense.english_jewel wrote:I don't think the miss would drag him back. After his miss he looked angry, but not depressed or lost like he was in his first season after he missed every chance. I believe he is back.
Cristiano Ronaldo Simply put was worth the money. We aren't complaining.
fernando torres will have to go through hell and high water to justify his.
did you use cristiano as an example to attempt a jab, or failure reasoning? *no offense*
as i said this thread sure is a kneejerk thread, as are 60 percent of all the threads on this section, not to be taken seriously.

So I'm guessing you didn't watch the game, then?
Torres was Chelsea's best player by a good margin

Re: He is back. Just as I promised you
He was sensational.
Too bad he missed an easy goal.Still brilliant performance. If Chelsea persist with the fluid attacking play displayed yesterday(that means no Lampard and no booting it up)then the goals will surely start flowing.
I still dont get why Lukaku was introduced. No surprise after the bodybuilder was introduced they started booting it up to him and consequently played poorly.
