Real Madrid 2010/2011 Finances
Courtesy of Crimson:
Real Madrid's official website released the financial info about season 2010 - 2011. The club made a turnover of 480 million euros. Higher than any club in the world and in history of football. The three most important sources are merchandising and marketing, tickets, TV rights. 31, 31 and 32%. The other 6% came from friendly matches and sportive performances.
The net profit was 31.6 million and the debt is reduced to 169 million

And as Crimson pointed out, we haven't even won anything worthwhile for a couple of years...

Any particular reason this is in the Gen Section and not the RM section?

And the Man U guys posted theirs a few weeks back... no reason we can't post ours. Besides, it's always fun to remind Barca fans that, despite their success, they're still broke lol.

That's impressive.
Even if you take away all TV income (about €160m) - for which they with Barcelona get a lot of criticism - Real Madrid's annual revenue would still be roughly €320m and that would put them (probably) 4th on Deloitte's Football Money League (the richest clubs).

Reminding Barca fans we are broke? None of us care lol

Barca always does this though historically: They go through periods of high success and then go broke. Maybe it will be different this time. But if you can't turn a profit when you're going through the best period in the club's history, when are you going to? And if you can't catch up to Madrid financially when you are in this period, how can you ever hope to catch up?

No, they dont do "this".
Best team we have had who a core of players, who havent been bought, but produced.
In previous times, when a player declines, we had to sign a replacement. In these times, we are growing replacements.
Who cares about catching up in terms of finance and profit? I certaintly couldnt care less.
I care about football and winning things.
We winning stuff? We playing well with good football? Every season we can sign players if we need?
If all are yes, I dont have a problem.
All I am saying is, your saying its to "remind us we are broke" I dont think I am the only Barca fan, who doesnt care because those 3 things above are still are a yes.
So if you aim was to upset us, this isnt the way to go about it.

Re: Real Madrid 2010/2011 Finances
When FFP kicks in and La Liga TV rights are pooled (both inevitable), Barca is dead financially. You guys better hope that the academy produces big time players because, after next year, big transfers will be impossible for the club. From a longevity standpoint, Barca can't keep up under their current business model.
As for Madrid, we will always be among the elite. As throughout our history, we very rarely go through bad times because we're so solid financially.

if madrid's tv income was decreased by 30 million this year, and it would be decreased by more if tv rights were pooled, they would have made a loss even with ronaldive & co's marketing income and while paying no bonuses for trophies...

Sure....but you will have to excuse my lack of worry, or my lack of envy towards Madrid in this area though. Becuase as I said, couldnt care less.
You say it will be impossible to sign big players, lets wait and see instead of just assuming nobody at Barca has considered any of what your saying and wont make plans to do something to change it.
I know nothing about the in's and out's, again because im not concerned.
I find it hard to believe nobody thought about this before spending big money on Sanchez and Cesc. If it was so dire and Barca are in so much trouble, why didnt they just keep the double winning squad they had instead of buying someone like Cesc, who on a playing point of view, wasnt needed, only wanted. You see why I am not worried surely?

Re: Real Madrid 2010/2011 Finances
The funny thing is that Barca fans think that they've been winners for decades lol. It hasn't even been a decade... been elite for 5-6 years and dominant the last 3. This is the most consistent run the club has had ever.
Do you really think that Barca is going to continue to win when it is financially on the brink? Imagine if Barca loses in CL elimination rounds, like it is bound to happen just because that's football. That massive income goes away. Given that the club is already losing money, then what? If FFP is there, not only will the club be unable to buy players, it will have to sell a couple.
You can't win consistently without being financially healthy. It's common sense.

Re: Real Madrid 2010/2011 Finances
I almost feel pity for Stoke fans.Having to console themselves with being financially ahead.
Who the hell gives a damn?
Bottom line is.Come Clasico time there is going to be just one team ahead.
Despite all the financial results, the CR shirt sales Stoke are still going to get whipped.
