Real Madrid Finances 2010/2011
Real Madrid's official website released the financial info about season 2010 - 2011. The club made a turnover of 480 million euros. Higher than any club in the world and in history of football. The three most important sources are merchandising and marketing, tickets, TV rights. 31, 31 and 32%. The other 6% came from friendly matches and sportive performances.
The net profit was 31.6 million and the debt is reduced to 169 million

Clearly, the most financially successful club in the world. FFP is not even a distant concern for us.

It's ridiculous when most clubs are struggling to turn a profit we reduce debt by a huge margin, turn a net profit and make the largest turnover in football history.
And we aren't even winning trophies yet lmao

Well, Real Madrid is financially prudent, that's pretty obvious now.

Re: Real Madrid Finances 2010/2011
MADRID — Spanish giants Real Madrid claimed Friday world-beating revenue for the sports world in 2010/11.
Real, which is leading the first division early in the new season, said sales shot up 8.6 percent to 480.2 million euros ($663 million) in the year to June 30.
"It is the biggest sum of any sporting institution in the world," the club said in a statement.
Net profit surged 31.7 percent to 31.6 million euros.
The club said it also managed to trim its heavy debt load. Net debt fell 30.6 percent in the year but was still high at 169.7 million euros as of June 30, it said.
Real Madrid rakes in money from the stadium, television rights, marketing, membership fees and sales of players.
But the huge sums that Real Madrid and archrival Barcelona claw in from the sale of television rights has sparked a backlash from other less fortunate clubs in the Spanish league.
Real Madrid and Barcelona receive about 140 million euros ($197 million) a year each from television rights, while small clubs such as Levante, Malaga or Real Sociedad get just 12 million euros.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido invited a dozen clubs to a meeting September 8 to seek a new distribution of the TV money that would sharply reduce Barca and Real's share.
They called for the TV rights sales to be centralised by the Professional Football League (LFP) and shared out more fairly.
Sevilla vice president Jose Maria Cruz said in a statement Thursday that Real Madrid had reacted coolly to the plans in an LFP meeting and that most other clubs had not backed up Sevilla's position.
"It shows, once again, that consensus is only possible when we all defer to what is proposed by Real Madrid and Barcelona, otherwise consensus is unfeasible," he complained.
"But we are not giving up and we won't cease in our determination or swallow it however much they attack us."

Also, I'm against putting this in the GS even if it is meant off of jest. This is a Real Madrid issue and would only be appreciated by Real Madrid fans and sympathizers. Maybe I'm being a bit mature today but Crims did the best thing for all really.

I already put it on the general board... for fun. Message boards are not meant to be serious. Gotta get some chuckles every once in a while.
Besides, i love getting Barca fans hot and bothered.

Re: Real Madrid Finances 2010/2011
All things considered though, when you look at the current economical climate and how bad it is. For Madrid to be pulling out these numbers is insane, like unbelievably insane.
FP truly is a genius when it comes to running a business and I truly believe he would be and should when he finishes at Madrid run the LFP.

Re: Real Madrid Finances 2010/2011
I also think that he knows, in the back of his mind, that the TV deal we have right now is unsustainable for La Liga. We'll have to give up some for the good of Spanish football in the near future. By bringing down debt, turning a profit every year, and keeping debt low, we will be able to take the short term revenue hit when that comes.

I think the hard part at this time is selling La Liga as a whole for a price that would great for us madrid. I mean we should push for at least 70M a year, hopefully more but in the end there will be some tough negotiations to be done. Plus our stadium expansion should also cover the lost income stream

He is a great president. He just would never ever ever live up to the standards of Mendoza and of course, Don Santiago. Some would argue Lorenzo Sanz was better but Mr. Sanz did mess up the club financially despite the club being really successful under his presidency but regardless, Mr. Perez is a great president. He just needed to let go of certain things (a lot of things really)...

we'd get a minimum of 100 million. We'd only partially share on CL and none of the other international competitions.
The way it would work is that we'd set overall benchmarks for the overall deal so that we would always get the minimum that we'd need. It would then motivate La Liga to go out and get the best possible deal out there to maximize the combined revenue

Yeah, but we admit our shortcomings a bit... not a lot, but a bit. They just can't handle any criticism. Complete nouveau rich syndrome over there.

A solution needs to be found for the imminent loss of T.V rights money though.
