You're assuming that every possible dive scenario is the same.

I'm not even going to try to address the logical fallacies in that LMAO.

awful tackle though on cristiano ronaldo, similiar to pepes tackle on alves. The dynamo player should have got a red..

I saw that, I noticed that recently Cristiano has been getting a bit more arrogant with not terribly much to show for it... I mean, hes been good, but not end of last year banging three goals a match good. I thought of the very same pepe tackle, though this was 2x worse and it actually made contact, did the Zagreb player get a yellow?

Pepe also touched alves, you could hear the impact. Both for me are red card..

That was the sound of Pepe getting the ball....

I personally would have given Pepe a yellow, not a straight red. (which was what he got)

Silly.....

Edit: For those that didn't see it there was a blatant studs up challenge on Ronaldo's knee that Dinamo got away with as well as several other nasty challenges that nothing was done about.....

So when a real madrid player dive its just loosing balance.. hmm interesting Marcelo's Sending Off - Page 3 2238782717
You obv. havent played football in irl then?. Running fast, makes you lose balance even with small contact, not hard to understand.

this is not serie borefest here, move along, besides Uefa dosent give a crap about dives.

So you encourage diving when its Madrid, but discourage it when its Barca. Hypocritical troll is a hypocrite.

Diving needs to be stomped out of the game, Period
UEFA should give a crap about it, just as it should give a crap about its refereeing standards.
minor diving and playacting are two different things. I agree diving should be stopped but hey what does an seria a fan knows about diving eh?

Serie A bans divers in video evidence. La Liga is home to the biggest divers since they have the most lax regulation on the matter.

So jog it son.

What I know the way pepe hit the ball is pretty hard to make the ball sound that way..

That wasn't what I said though...

Sorry if I wasn't clear but what I meant was that your post sort of sounds like you can judge every possible dive scenario the same.

There are too many variables and you should only really judge every scenario on it's own.

I think the studs up challenge on Ronaldo should get a 2 game ban, since he was not carded in the game.

BTW, I am just demanding equal stamping of the rules here against any teams.

Diving should be punished based on the position of the dive and the danger associated with it. IMO, there should be whole judgment tribunal that assesses the ref's mistakes after the match and assigns bans according to video evidence.

15 years ago, when refs made mistakes, technology was not as advanced as to let us see the mistake from each and every angle. Now, technology allows us that advantage, which makes fans feel cheated and frustrated. Especially since such mistakes are deciding games more than actual goals these days.

The challenge on Ronaldo while tough looked honest to me. It was just a bad clash and these things happen.

A yellow for the Zagreb player for reckless play would have been fair but he didn't get even that.

I will take your word for it since I did not watch the match and only listened to the Audio, and the commentator was like "That was a red tackle.......)"

My point stands that something needs to be done to make refereeing consistent.

Are people in this thread really saying it wasn't a dive? I mean if that's your opinion I think you need to leave the General section and stick to the Madrid board so at least there will be other blind fanboys to talk with.

I mean wow, I don't see how a human being with decent eye sight and any knowledge of football can say that wasn't a dive.

Wow, I'm stunned someone could be such a fanboy, it's really sad.

Actually I just saw it again and I think my initial instinct was wrong.

It should have been red. Simply because Ronaldo's foot was going vertically (thus wasn't really a danger to anyone) and the Dinamo player was coming in high and horizontally. The studs hit him directly on the ankle.

Should have been a red.

Yeah, saw that in highlights. Looked really painful, defiantly banable by the book. If only UEFA used that book. The Marcelo dive as well. But that is when they become fair all around.

FIFA/UEFA needs to be fair.

players have stayed on the pitch for far worse deeds, but marcelo did have 2 card-able offenses so a red card was deserved.

but i do love how quick barca fans are on these types of threads.
