Barca needed a CB to come in this summer with experience and Sanchez signing was an important one, the Cesc transfer was the one that was'nt necessary and a CB should have been purchased instead oh well.

Anyway this thread isnt about that, its about the fantastic performance of Alessandro Nesta who showed why he was the best in the world at one time for many many years, ok he cant play like that very often these days but he's still top quality and that tackle had me gobsmacked.....

The fact Fabio" only good at 06 WC" Cannavaro(JOKE) is even compared to Nesta is an absolute joke imo....

Nesta was and always will be leagues above him.

agreed nesta in his prime was the best defender i've ever seen...too bad his best aspect(his slides) are a dieing art in this game...

Agreed on Canna. Him being chosen ahead of Thuram on old goal com forums in Greatest Team Of The Decade is utter rubbish. Though he was good in beginning of 2000s, especially on Euro as well.

Nesta is class, so as Puyol. Despite few mistakes and age, they own.

We said he was still World Class. The season has only just started and we need to work our way to full fitness and we'll see lapses in concentration as always, and remaining injury free has always been an issue, but when he's around and the pressure is on, I wouldn't look to anyone else.

Of course pato is fast, but this is not the first time busquets has been troubled by speed
