Inter v AS Roma
So yesterdays game didn't got to plan with a loss at home to Serie A minnows Cagliari.
I like the rest of you guys will be looking for a much better performace against Inter this coming Saturday night at the San Siro. I watched the Inter game last night and I must say they looked so open at the back at times it was really unbelievable to watch.Palermo pressed them really hard and Inter struggled to cope with it.Palermo are usually a side that Inter always batters. There last victory against Inter was back in 2005 ...So maybe we have a chance at the San Siro..
Like I said in another thread I would like to see Borini get the nod up front alongside Totti not sure about the right side of attack maybe Bojan.I also hear that Lamela will be in the squad he probably won't start but he'll be on the bench so I hope to see him at some point during the match..
Juan will be back also..
I'd like to see this formation..
----------------------------------Stekelenburg------------------------------------
--------------------------Juan-------------------Burdisso-------------------------
-------------------------------------Gago-----------------------------------------
Rosi-----------------------------------------------------------------------Heinze
------------------DDR--------------------------------Pjanic-----------------------
-----------------Borini----------------Totti------------------Bojan-----------------

Re: Inter v AS Roma
I agree with most of the formation. Those 3 guys in midfield are a must imo, Perrotta on the bench could be very useful. I'm really not convinced by Rosi, I would prefer Cassetti who's more reliable defensively and would offer just as much as Rosi going forward. And it might be a little early for Borini to get a starting spot, though he did well yesterday. I expect to see Borriello in there, probably with Bojan.
All in all, we have a good chance if we play well. We've grabbed points at San Siro before and our first win last season came against Inter. Hopefully we do it again, with a little more success afterwards lol.

After Cassetti's performance against Slovan I don't think he deserves to start tbh.I think we should stick with Rosi for this one ..The lad done well against Cagliari...

Well he was kind of playing out of position. You just know that Rosi is going to screw up sooner or later, unfortunately I think he doesn't have much untapped potential left in him.

Borini has to play! The guy is a beast!
What about Lamela is he fit?
Damn, Angel is suspended!

Re: Inter v AS Roma
Cassetti doesn't have the pace tbh. I think you need Rosi/Angel patrolling either side to keep options open. How much more defensively does Cassetti really offer?
Rosi may not be the best option, but his work rate was admirable last game. To me Rosi is ahead of Cassetti and Cichno this year/this formation.
Just thinking about this makes me wonder how much of a difference a guy like Isla would make.
I think Rosi has room to improve if given the chance.
Might as well start the hype show...

Re: Inter v AS Roma
Hehe, I wish.
I'm gonna give Osvaldo a few more chances to prove himself though. He did have a wicked Mustache... You can tell he is a physical force out there, I think he was a bit out of position on the left...Should be played a bit more central.

Agreed about him playing more central,he's pretty useless out on the wing..
I guess only time will tell...

True, but let's not forget, Roma relies on a 3-4-3 when they attack

Remember our last match against Inter which turned into a screwed up goal-fest? I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens this time around.

True that, seeing that almost every side have struggled defensively in Serie A, especially Inter, don't be surprised lol

Re: Inter v AS Roma
Tough to predict who will start this match. With Angel suspended, our backline could be anything really. For that left back position, it's between Heinze, Cassetti and Taddei. Cassetti is unlikely to start, Heinze may be deployed there from the start, meaning that Juan will start in the middle and Kjaer will be called up to the bench. If that starting spot is instead given to Taddei, which is a possibility given that Enrique sees him as a full back, then Burdisso, Heinze and Juan will be in contention for those two center back spots. On the right, Rosi is likely to get the go ahead, while Cicinho will try to be fit for the match to at least make it to the bench.
Gago, De Rossi, Pizarro, Pjanic and Perrotta will be fighting over the three starting spots in midfield. Pizarro did well in training today, while Pjanic was allowed to leave by the club for an undisclosed reason. My guess is that De Rossi, Gago and Pjanic will start, if the latter returns in the next couple of days.
In attack, pretty much all three spots are up for grabs. Totti played the whole 90 minutes against Cagliari and was the best out of our 5 strikers, so he should be guaranteed a starting spot, but you never know. Osvaldo and Bojan both disappointed, but they are Enrique's pupils, especially the latter, so it would be strange to see them both on the bench from the start against Inter. Borriello and Borini did relatively well after coming on against the Sardinian side, so they are very much in contention of grabbing a starting spot against the nerazzurri, along with Lamela who's fighting to be fit for next Saturday.
My guess at this point would be this:

Re: Inter v AS Roma
Guys it probably wont happen but how about this......
It fit's Totti, Bojan and Osvaldo instead of Osvaldo being played out of postion to fit Totti and Bojan into a front 3......
I see Osvaldo is'nt alot of your line ups though, if he isnt available for some reason then play Borriello or something....
I stand by it though i think in the long run 4-3-1-2 fits all your players the best and good luck ill be watching and hoping for a Roma victory
Inb4 Mole is a Inter Hater
Stekelenburg
Rosi Juan Burdisso Heinze
Gago De Rossi Pjanic
Totti
Osvaldo Bojan
