Inter v Roma
Rudi's first big test by far.
A tough, tough game against a revitalized side under Mazzarri. They don't fear us and we damn sure shouldn't fear them. If we come out swinging in the first half like we did against Bologna, they are going to have their hands full. They aren't as free scoring as we are (Sassuolo doesn't really count tbh) and they can be rather porous as well at the back so I don't really see much about this Inter side that has me shaken. That said, the lads must come out strong from the get go. Can't afford to be a 2nd-half team against a side like this.
Thoughts, lads?

Re: Inter v Roma
It would be hard as their midfield are doing well alvarez had some great games and kovacovic (I killes his name i know) is growing to be a decent mid as well , their defence was solid against Juve specially in offside , campagnaro had some MOM performances But have no fear Totti is here

Re: Inter v Roma
Offensively I don't think Inter can keep up with us, especially if we get an early goal. Overall I think they play very good defense so I could see this being a 1-0 win or 0-0 highly contested draw. I think if we get a goal in the first 15 minutes I expect 3 points.
Pretty much, I expect 3 points. I think we should only being challenged by teams like Juve, Napoli, and Fiorentina. The key is that Garcia continues to win the games we should win and get enough points from the other top teams to easily make European competition.

We have always done well at the San Siro in recent years. I doubt that this inter side is a scudetto contender. Just too weak on the paper

He's listed as doubtful officially. It's a sciatic nerve problem.

Re: Inter v Roma
I just read Garcia interview before game , such a coolheaded guy . The Roma app is so useful and informative . I want to see one of those Totti exclusive goals either a hammering 40k/h or a decent long range chip shot

Re: Inter v Roma
Fantastic first half. We tore them to shreds on the counter (dat Totti flick to start Florenzi's goal ). They made us suffer though at times as both Castan and Benatia were on yellows while Balza was sent off and will miss the Napoli game.
I also don't think the penalty call was correct as contact on Gerv was just outside the box (by centimeters mind you), but I ain't complaining.
An overall wonderful game for us once again. Now we need to pivot away and focus on Napoli. We beat them that leaves only Fiorentina and Juve left to scalp. We've so far dispensed of any real threat to us with extreme prejudice. Ruthless, Ruthless Roma.
Don't ever change

Re: Inter v Roma
I have seen you twice now and seen 8 goals in two games and zero conceded
Been really impressed with Strootman in both games i thought i'd mention that because i don't see a lot of people mentioning him in the usual avenues ( i.e. general section)
Obviously Benatia, Totti ( ), Gervinho, Florenzi, DDR, Pjanic etc etc have all been really impressive though.
Thought that tackle from Balza was absolutely idiotic though and will miss the game against Napoli now, if i'm Benitez i'm putting Insigne on who ever you play at LB ( Dodo i presume?) but i doubt he will do that luckily as Callejon will be easier to deal with.
In any case good luck against them and other games in coming weeks and months, really enjoyed watching you play so far.

Re: Inter v Roma
Thanks Mole.
Yeah we're going to be in trouble on that LB spot. Dodo could play there, but we have Marquinho as well who can play LB. Given that Marquinho's better defensively, I would opt for him and then use Dodo near the end to provide extra pace and attacking down that flank when the opposite number has tired.

Re: Inter v Roma
I'm sincerely very happy for your guys. Really hope this sort of forms continues throughout the season and you guys can have a dream season.
I always thought you deserved at least one scudetto post Calciopoli when Inter was dominating. Especially 2007-08 and 2009-10. Can't believe you guys lost both times on the last matchday.
This team is very entertaining to watch. I'm absolutely in awe how great the trio of De Rossi, Strootman, and Pjanic work together.
