Players you haven't heard much about lately

You know, players that once had a reasonable amount of hype/buzz surrounding them, but in recent times have been really low on the radar. Usual reasons include overrating, bad seasons, etc.

- Serdar Tasci: Some years ago I heard how promising this guy is for the German NT. Haven't heard the name recently.

- Andy Johnson & Bobby Zamora: Both EPL players, yeah, but some years ago they were thought of as decent players who could challenge for that other striker spot beside Rooney for England. Now Welbeck and Sturridge > them

- Keisuke Honda: Japan's big star, before he moved to Russia all eyes were on this guy to see where he'd go to next, what's up with him now?

Any other names that fit the bill for you guys?

Tasci and Stuttgart overall didnt have a good season last season so he kinda dropped off the radar, especially with the emergence of Howedes, Hummels, Badstuber, etc.

Dont know whats going on with Johnson and Zamora.

Honda is doing well at CSKA and was linked with a few clubs this summer including Juventus who were very close to getting him at one point.

Some names that have dropped off the radar in my eyes are Pasquale Foggia, Marko Marin, and Manuele Blasi. Blasi a couple years ago was a beast of a defensive midfielder for Palermo, then i think he moved to Napoli where he was benched and never heard from again. Foggia also was a great left winger who i wanted at Juventus after the 08-09 season, but then he just disappeared. And Marko Marin was supposedly gonna be a superstar or something and eventually dropped out of the national team and everything, albeit i still think Marin has the talent and is still young enough to prove it.

Eljero Elia also dropped off the radar for a little bit but did well in the world cup, then dropped off the radar again, but now moved to Juve where, if he performs, hell become a star. Hes on and off, but hopefully for us Juve fans, he stays on.

Wasnt he like the best midfielder of Bundesliga a couple of years ago !I think he has dropped of the radar a tad bit..I dont think he started many games for Bayern last season(not sure actually),Especially in Cl i most often saw him being bought on as a sub..But there was a lot of hype surrounding him after a stellar season at Leverkusen though..

Ranocchia and Bonucci ... those CBs were the next wc CBs to come out of Italy. In the winter of 2009-early 2010 you heard a about them. I understand they have moved on to bigger clubs , but they are not talked about by foreign journos that don't follow Serie A.
