Re: Joe Cole Ripping Ligue 1 Apart
I'm not surprised. With all due respect to Ligue 1, it would be a lot harder for Cole to go out and do something like that in the Premier League, week in week out.

Re: Joe Cole Ripping Ligue 1 Apart
I do expect him to do relatively well in France, but even that shouldn't been seen as some sort of indicator that he could rip apart Premier League defences upon his return.

Re: Joe Cole Ripping Ligue 1 Apart
Hazard was more impressive. The kid is a future star.
As for ligue 1 defenses, they can't be worse than EPL defense who has the reputation of being one of the weakest in the world.
It's always nice to see Saint Etienne losing.

In France people consider English defense as a big weakness.

people do not know him in league, they do not know what to expect. His problem is consistency anyway

Re: Joe Cole Ripping Ligue 1 Apart
Hazard was ridiculously good tonight... first goal was pure class with that quick dribble through the box and outside of the foot finish.

Pleased for him. His style of play suits European football more and he should have left the Premier League after his contract ran out instead of chasing the money at Liverpool.
Eager to see how he'll link up with Hazard and Payet.
Still can't believe how lucky he was to get a move to Lille though.
He's played for two of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and was a regular for England up until recently.
How could they possibly not "know what to expect" lol?
Btw, apparently Atleti were class yesterday!

Re: Joe Cole Ripping Ligue 1 Apart
Well, when was the last time Joe Cole was the talk of the league? frankly i have a hard time remembering the way he plays.
I'm not taking credit away from him, he made a great dribble, nothing the defense could have done.
Rudi Garcia is a great coach, if he can get to Cole, he will play very well for Lille. They have a form of free flowing football none of the teams he played for in England had, so he might actually enjoy himself a great deal there.
Atletico? man, Arda has some nasty close control dribbles. It's a new team so toward the end of the game they were getting more comfortable. They will look very good soon.

is that why Marseille and Lyon can't get a sniff at goal during champions league games?
defenses are too weak they feel bad for them and don't try lol

If the French think that the EPL are weak defensively then that explains why their club football is 5 steps behind the rest of us

Not just the French.
Probably explains why the Portugese always beat the English teams for some reason.
