Platini praises new stadium
UEFA President Michel Platini has spoken of his satisfaction at Juventus' new stadium, and the significance it holds for the club's future success.
Juventus will be the only Serie A side to own their stadium, and speaking at a charity golf tournament, former Bianconeri No 10 Platini cited its importance in starting what he believes could become a new era at the club.
“Thanks to the new stadium, a new cycle can begin at Juventus. It was very important to build this new facility for Juventus, which is beautiful, and something necessary for all teams to have.
“Are Juve ready to being a new cycle? I think so.”
Juventus officially open their new 41,000-seater stadium with a friendly against Notts County on Thursday evening, before welcoming Parma for the ground's first Serie A fixture scheduled for Sunday lunchtime.
The Frenchman also gave time to again speak about his Financial Fair Play initiative that is coming into effect this season.
“FFP is a serious thing, implemented in agreement with all those interested, from clubs to politicians, we must make these rules.”
The golf tournament Platini was speaking at was organised by the Fondazione Vialli e Mauro - a charity foundation headed by ex-Juventus players Gianluca Vialli and Massimo Mauro, aimed at raising funds and awareness of cancer and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

It's one of the biggest things to happen to Italian football since Calciopoli, except this time it is a good thing.
