Predict this Serie A season
I honestly have no clue how it will pan out this year. I can't even decide on a top spot, or second. Third is even harder - with over four or five teams that could be considered real candidates for the spots and over 3 teams have spent more than Real or Barca to get that spot. This must be the most even season since Inter dominance started.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
Imo Milan is still with the strongest squad in the league......Inter have weakened but I see Milan winning it....From 2 down though it'll be one hell of a season.
But to tell you the truth I hope either Roma or Napoli win the league.....Just my own preference.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
it all depends really, on paper Milan are even stronger than last year since they plucked some holes in their defence and midfield, but the hot and cold form of Ibra and Pato might hinder their season
Inter on the other hand are a far cry from their dominance years, but if the Zarate and Forlan gambles pay off, then they could become real title challengers. I also have doubts regarding the coach and his tactical approach especially with the pre season form, so id wait untill January to asses their chances
Napoli are the most exciting team in the league with their young attacking squad, and with the heavy investements this summer they have a huge chance to win the title. A CL spot should be a min target for such a team
Roma are in a transformational phase, and with the current Totti's attitude towards the new project i wouldnt even consider them for a CL spot.
Juvi are also in the grey area with alot of new signings and an unexperienced coach, but their summer market have been great and if things click they could prove to be the black horse in the title race
so with only 3 CL spots this year, i expect a very tight race this year. Milan and Napoli are set on paper, while Inter and Juvi should battle it out for the 3rd place
Milan
Napoli
Inter
Juvi
Roma
Lazio

It's Milans to lose, the 2 slots behind Milan is between Inter/Juve/Roma.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
This just goes to show how competitive Serie A really is... The most MAJOR competitive league in the world. We saw how unpredictable it was last season, imagine this season. We spent a lot of money this summer as a whole in Serie A, sure the strike didn't due us any good, but then again it gave more rest for the players in the nationals plus prevents the season from starting with some injured players and late transfers. Expect a breakout season, some club will come and surprise, this season was Napoli, most likely Lazio. But knowing it's competitivity, who knows what will happen. I'm expecting a better Juve, Inter failing a bit, and Milan sadly not winning the Scudetto as Wiggles said.
All I can say is, WATCH OUT FOR ROMA! SABATINI CREATED A BEAST TEAM!

Re: Predict this Serie A season
I think Napoli will be the revelation team. I tip them to end even higher than last year, perhaps even winning the title. It, however, remains to be see how they will cope with the three tournaments - although a possible early exit from the group of death might solve this problem for them.

There won't be revelation as they are already there, higher? So basically second or first... sure why not. But with the other clubs and their improvements, that's very hard to say. Looking at Roma, Juventus and Lazio, very hard indeed, then including always Inter and Milan. Though as someone pointed out before, Napoli might concentrate more on champions League, same might apply for Milan as they actually are the only hope for Serie A this season.

Not this year...Maybe in 2 or 3, depending on a lot of factors. There will be a huge learning curve this year, both for the coach and players. I'm still not convinced that Enrique's football can be competitive in Serie A...

No, even this year, mark my words. Their squad is a major improvement from even last season and you finished 6th. Mark my words, Roma will go far. I'm so excited how they will play out.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
I think stability will be key. Inter, Roma, and Juve have all gone through a change in coaches and to some degree in core players. They will struggle to adapt to the coach's new ideas, to immerse the new arrivals into the ideology of the club, and to do this efficiently while competing. Napoli has the advantage that the core players are still there and they have merely been reinforced. I can see them fighting Milan for the title.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
Milan could concentrate on the CL however they want but, they will still be favorites for the scudetto. This all is something new to Napoli, haven't been in this position for decades, they are simply not ready for it. Look how they choke whenever they come up against big teams. I shall bookmark this thread..

^^That's on top of everything else like new system, new players... Sabatini/Baldini/Enrique are not stupid...They know if they freeze Totti out, the fans will go nuts...
This is going to be a majorly transitional season for us, I can't see us competing for honors this year, maybe Coppa:).

Re: Predict this Serie A season
We might concentrate a lot on cl.but look at our bench:Mexes,Yepes,Zambrotta,Robinho,Cassano,Ambrosini,Nocerino,Gattuso,El Shaaraway etc.
We have enough quality to keep up with both competitions + injuries.
@zizzle,if pato or ibra arent on form,we just put on binho or cassano and they will decide a game, just like last season.

Re: Predict this Serie A season
Napoli will struggle with depth issues...the farther they go in Europe the worse their team will be
As of right now I think
1) Milan
2) Inter
3) Juve
4) Roma
5) Napoli
6) Lazio
My gut says we'll beat Milan and win the league...but since we've only seen 1 competitive fixture from Inter so far its hard to know what the season holds for us..

Are you kidding me, TOTTI HAS TO PLAY! Did you see how they were eliminated from the qualfiers? Because he didn't play. Totti with Montella as a Prima Punta, scored 12 goals in half a season in which he won games like vs Bari, he brought Roma up the standings. Enrique is the problem, not Totti.
