Serie A spent quite a lot this transfer season.
The difference between Serie A and the EPL is mostly due to Man City going nuts. On average the Serie A teams spent in a more equilibrated manner. Napoli spent quite a bit for a team was in Serie B a few years ago and Juve really bought a lot. Not so bad for a league in decline as one moderator trolls on about.

The numbers show that Serie A are in the right track.
However,
1- It is not a sustainable model, most of this money is coming from ambitious owners and/or TV revenue. Both depend on the marketability of the league.
2- Clubs need to perform better, and with only one winner in the Serie A and only three spots in the CL. Clubs need to start working for the Europa league now. Even if it is a worthless trophy (IMO).
3- This season should be used to:
a) Market the league.
b) Bolster youth academies.
c) Start thinking about either building new stadiums or buying the stadiums from the government.
4- Investment ~= Performance.
In Conclusion:
I hope Serie A gets back in track, Europe and football as an entertainment needs more competition since this La Liga dominance is getting boring and predictable.

Napoli, Juve and Roma did spend a lot of money. Will be a cracking competition for the 3rd spot.

you'll eat those words my good friend if you don't edit it to 2nd spot. Inter for 3rd spot has been ascertained by Moggi directly from his hideout..... and his phone still calls pretty good too [ask Inter fans]

Well, I hope the BL teams will perform nicely this season to show that spending amount doesn't have to equal success. More power to youth development!

Bundesliga is poor.
No tv-money, no owners.

LOL. But for this "handicap" (?? is it really? I mean look at our youngsters!), our teams are actually doing pretty well, wouldn't you say?Serge Gnabry wrote:Bundesliga is poor.

Re: Serie A spent quite a lot this transfer season.
well they're gonna need to spend as much as possible, only 3 coefficient points separating serie a and ligue 1 and those will stop counting next year...

I have brought it to the attention of an admin who has said he would look into it. Haven't gotten an answer yet. But, there is a moderator that is constantly ragging on Serie A whilst lowering the warning level of those that question the EPL's superiority. That is just a fact, nothing to do with "cries for injustice".

From experience I can say that spending money doesn't guarantee results () but it's a step in the right direction.
