Zarate's agent has confirmed we have made an approach for him to Lazio.I would suppose it will depend on the price Lazio quote.I also read that he is being frozen out of Lazio due to a bust up and is up for sale so might be cheap.

Is it true?

Zarate said he was joining us too a couple of seasons ago. Only used us for a better contract at Lazio.

If we are going to buy from the Serie A, should go for Lavezzi. :O
Would say Cavani, but his whole transfer to Napoli is confusing. ._.

This is some Nth time where he's involved in a bust-up but seems like Edy Reja has lost patience but i doubt Lazio's president is gonna give him away for cheap considering they made a 25m investment on him..Plus Lotito is a hard guy to convince when it comes to transfer fees..He's played hard ball over many deals in recent years..

Wont be surprised if he is not sold at all this season honestly..

I have a feeling the Zarate link is just the agent trying to force other bidders out of the woodwork... he's used Liverpool for such purposes before.

Ruiz is one we've been linked with before and he's a great player, but I'm not sure where he'd fit in in the starting line up and can't see him coming to be back-up given Twente's success of late in the Dutch league.

We've been linked with Ruiz for a year or two now, though. Especially in January and last summer. We're not Spuds, after all.

Injury prone, no point buying a player for 30m+ for Euros while he's on the decline. Could not settle to PL in his first season, will end up as another Veron for Utd/Chelsea if so. Also not a fan. Expecting to get neg rep'd 5 times again. bounce

Ruiz is a lot like Suarez, actually. He played as a winger originally and is still normally used there but likes to cut in and can also play as a SS and CF. Quick, clever, with a good shot and decent cross.
