Easy to say, "we'll buy a world class direct replacement". How do you suppose we'll A.) Find one B.) convince their current club to sell mid-season, and C.) accomplish all of this in a matter of days?

Well I'm definitely sad, but I guess we all have to understand that he can't be wasted away sitting on our bench and getting a game once a month or not even. He is a super talent and an awesome footballer that needs to be playing every week. I am just mad that he is going to united, it will be horrible playing against him next season ...

Yes, they are. One poor season doesn't change that. They're only finishing 4th and signing a few reinforcements over the summer away from turning right back into title challengers again. Yet here you are advocating selling them a player that would be the spring-board to both those objectives.

You do realize that before this new city team came into place, it was basically chelsea and man united competing for the title since 2005 right?  Manchester United absolutely have been our highest quality direct rival.  But now we also have a suped up city team, arsenal making noise, and Liverpool is back in the game too

You think Chelsea will not think of this before selling?

Mata has not done anything particularly useful this season yet we're building a world class side without him that is already 2 points behind the leaders this season. This is hardly a major loss like some Chelsea fans are dressing this up as. If we sell him, you can be rest assured that we would use the money before the end of the transfer window. Transfers go very quickly when a club doesn't want to procrastinate. Who knows, we may get a world class CF for all we know. Mourinho and Abramovich are the last ones to start a new term with an underwhelming squad. And if we can't find a replacement, then he probably won't go.

But 40m pounds for a useless player, as he has been this season, is a more than a good deal. I would gladly take another Willian, or Hazard.
