H.A. - nice post. the overreaction was mostly institagted by that troll Huntsman. Everything he posts is always ridiculous. I don't understand why anyone responds to any of his post.

Re the game finish, Marcelo was an idiot. No excuse for either of his HITS. It turned a fantastic game, from both sides, into a disgrace. I believe Marcelo was simply falling orders from Mou. Mou's attack on Vilanova was a disgrace and worst of all, it was captured on camera so expect another lengthly suspension to both Mou and Marcelo.

I'm going to ask you again do you think Villa slapping Ozil a disgrace?

Or Mou getting HIT a disgrace?

Bill, I'd NOT blame Marcelo, I said it before but I also think Mou is giving them orders. I just think Marcelo listens to whatever the coach has to say.

EDIT: lmao I menat NOT blame

I didn't see Villa with Ozil so I can't comment on what happened. Barca are not innocent in these altercations. The one last year was caused by Pep throwing the ball away from Ronaldo. Villa obviously did something to severely upset Ozil and Higuain.

I didn't see Mou get HIT, I saw him attack Vilanova from behind and then walk away and grin / laugh about it.

I just think the whole ending was unnecessary and ruined an excellent game. And (this time) you can blame Mou and Marcelo.

Mourinho got hit in the back of the head. So if you didn't see it now you know.

What Jose did was wrong but putting all the blame on Marcelo and Jose is something I will not accept. It takes two to tango and Barca are just as much to blame.

Vilanova tried to get back at Mou after Mou attacked him and walked away. From what I saw, he didn't get to Mou and Mou simply laughed and grinned. I don't see where you can blame the Barca #2 coach for that. BUT, it was Marcelo that started this whole thing and what in the world was Jose thinking when he went over to attack Villanova.

Again it was a disgraceful finish to what had been an excellent game. If you feel it was Barca who started this, wait til you see the resulting suspensions. Mou and Marcelo will get lengthly ones, Ozil and Villa will likely get 1 game.None else in Barcelona will get anything!!

He lost his cool but he should never let that happen again. No one on this board loves him as much as I do but you can't really justify what he did.

Marcelo is better than that.

I love Marcelo just as much as anyone, but he suffered from a lot of racism so I can see why he did it.

Listen Marcelo's tackle was dumb. If he gets a suspension he would deserve it.

The entire Barca bench jumped up and ran towards Marcelo, what are we supposed to do? Let them surround him? Of course we had to get involved and try to defend our team mate even if what he did was stupid. It could have been a red card and end of story but Barcelona wanted their own justice. They made the situation what it was.

As for Vilanova:

What I personally don't get from all this drama is why the barca fans, players, coaches are acting so surprised and oh so insulted.

The brawl wouldn't have happened if it weren't for barca's bench, it got worse with what happened to Ozil. I mean if Villa wanted to lash out why didn't he go on to Pepe, Arbeloa[on the bench], Ramos?! You know the answer to this.

Barca fans should know the clasicos get physical, its not something new and won't be something new in the next 20 years. Just watch the video I posted in the last page.

If LFP tries to do something it will definitely be a JOKE.

Anyway I'm not one that likes to point my finger at the opposition, what we did was inexcusable, I mean I know its frustrating but nevertheless we should have just moved on.

There is no justification for any player to commit a foul like that but all I am saying is that I know why Marcelo over reacted like that and he is the most cool guy on our team.

Ok, I'll agree. Interesting to me, is that Marcelo behaved as bad as I expect his countryman Alves to do. Man I hate him. I like and respect most Barca players, but him, he's a diver, whiner, complainer and down right pain in the ass. Most of all I hate him because he owns CR7.

With regards to the Vilanova hit on Mou, was this before or after Mou attacked him? If it was before then I take back all I said about Mou. If it was after (I don't think it was because what I saw after was he was pulled back before he reached Mou), then it's still Mou as the instigator.

I didn't see that. When did it happen? To me the silliness started with Marcelo's kick on Messi. Then Messi gets mad and scores the winner. Then Marcelo takes out Cesc. It was brutal. Could have torn his ACL with the scissors action. You can't blame Barca's bench for the reaction of someone deliberity and brutally trying to take out their newest player for the season.

My conclusion, without Marcelo in the game, it would have ended at 2-2 and we would have had a winner based on penalty shots. Mind you, we'd all be still asleep. These midnight games are difficult. I would have been interested in how penalties would have went. We have a better goalie, but they have better finishers. It would have been great to see who comes out ahead in that.

So if there is one lesson to be learnt from this game it is don't piss off Messi.

Not sure when it happened but that's irrelevant IMO. What Jose did was silly and dumb but my point is that Vilanova is not some weak victim.

As for Alves well I would never wish death on anyone but I hope he doesn't have a long and happy life.

Hi guys, i'm an old lurker from the old goal.com forums. I usually just lurk around and read great posts here. but this time i have something to ask, maybe any of you have more info. It's about Ozil and Villa incident.

futbol_bill wrote:

I didn't see Villa with Ozil so I can't comment on what happened. Barca are not innocent in these altercations. The one last year was caused by Pep throwing the ball away from Ronaldo. Villa obviously did something to severely upset Ozil and Higuain.

You can see it in this video:

@0:20 Ozil started walking slowly to the crowd around Cesc. The incident starts at 0:34, Ozil was standing still, didn't get involved or said anything it seems. He was pushed once, he ignored it, then Villa slapped him, causing both Ozil and Higuain charged on him.

Some said Ozil stepped over Cesc while he was still lying on the ground, and that was the reason Villa slapped him. But this video clearly shows @0:37 that Ozil was standing at far left, separated by several players from Cesc who was still on ground at far right. And then he chased Villa with Higuain. So no way (from the video) Ozil could do it to Cesc.

But some other people mentioned the Referee wrote in his report that Ozil was redcarded for stomping at cesc. I tried to search for the official report but couldn't find it. Anyone has seen/read it? If so, could you give me the link? thanks.

Other reports said Cesc confirmed no one stomping at him.

I'm just curious about this situation, since Ozil is usually very calm. Although at the first leg, he did looked quite upset with Alves's exaggerated acting.

I don't think you can get your hand at the report currently.

Villa for some reason attacked Ozil, it was a push then a slap. You can see how Ozil was surprised.

Its an unfortunate incident, I feel that we will never really know what truly happened, only the players on the field know.

yeah i still remember that referee accident Very Happy. The most annoying thing is Ozil wasn't even looking at Villa Evil or Very Mad.

oh is that so? i was wondering about this because some people claimed to have read the referee report... so i thought maybe it was reported in AS/marca, in spanish... i know some of you here can read spanish and lots of times quoted articles from both AS and Marca.

Thanks for the welcome! Smile. He's a douche and a coward. Did you see how he ran away/stepped back when Ozil and Higuain both confronted him? Good on Higuain for standing up for his mate!

Okay just to put the Ozil-Villa incident to rest here is a video that shows what kind of happened. Apparently it all started with a shove, maybe some verbal abuse too.

Ozil shoved Valdes slightly trying to break up tension in the brawl,

Villa saw it and thought he pushed valdes and held Ozil's hand,

Ozil shoved Villa's hand,

Villa snapped and pushed him at the back.

Then (don't know if it was villa or valdes) slapped Ozil in the face.

Ozil snapped.

True story.

We can never know what Villa said to Ozil, and frankly about this specific brawl have been written already crazy lunatic stuff and I'm not gonna go around speculating this and that, but what did I see, was that Villa was the first to lay a hand on Ozil and that is a fact.
