The Bright Side of España SC El Clasicos
We may have lost the Super Copa to Barcelona but in the end its an un-important trophy. I viewed the el clasicos as glorified friendlies, winning would have been sweet but the main purpose of the matches was to show we can match and even surpass Barcelona. Did it work? Yes, it absolutely did.
In the first match barcelona admitted they were unprepared and unfit. Its true to some extent but Madrid too weren't at there best. Sure you may argue we won a lot of matches with loads of goals but the defense remained untested, unchallenged. Casillas didn't have any real challenges in pre-season so even he was unprepared. We had many training session with most of the players but Barcelona did too, they simply didn't have Alves or Messi just like we didn't have Di Maria and Higuain. As for Sanchez he's a different story, he's a new player. In both matches it showed our attack still didn't reach 100%. So saying they have won with an unfit team against a fit madrid is false.
With that out of the way I'm surprised with the knee-jerk reactions. One is that Casillas is always bad against Barcelona, two is that our defense is one of the worst in europe which kind of surprised me. My reply to both can be seen above.
I would also like to say we should simply forget about the rash and stupid tackles. It was disappointing to watch because we shouldn't resort to that kind of play no matter what. We should not point fingers at the Barcelona players for diving and acting because it's not an excuse. Real Madrid is bigger than that.
Now onto the bright side of the matches:
- In the first match we managed to out-possess them with the ball during several parts of the game. That in its own is a feat, especially since Barcelona are proud to starve the opposition of the ball. We also managed to do it again in the 2nd match but it wasn't as good.
- We now have found a solution to barcelona's tiki-taka, we took a page from there own book. We're pressuring them high up the pitch constantly which eventually sees them misplacing a pass in there own half. This helps us to immediately counter attack in there own half which can be deadly. We're going back to our roots of true Madridismo attacking style football. Its Direct Football with absolutely high pressuring. If we can implement it against tough opposition we will definitely be a nightmare to deal with.
The downside of this though is our players will get really tired by the 65~70th minute. We need to be smarter plus increase our efficiency to conserve energy.
- We made Barcelona park the bus in the 2nd match with there Main Line-up, they weren't able to sustain proper possession in the 2nd half which forced them to simply sit back at there own half defending. They made fun of us of parking the bus in our own stadium when they did it in the Camp Nou because they were afraid to concede. The irony right? Anti-Football at its finest
- Benzema and Ozil got to score against Barcelona, Ronaldo got to score his first goal at the Nou. This will boost there confidence. Barcelona also brought the dark side of Ozil, which I was surprised to see. This definitely isn't good for them come December.
Not Good Indeed
- These two matches FINALLY showed us madridistas that we are more than capable of beating the "Best Team of All Time" [hope you don't actually believe it] with ATTACKING football, crazy right?! They said it was impossible.
- We still have a great guy who will learn to hate Barcelona with passion in time hopefully.
- This is a bit silly but Mou showed us what us madridistas think of the so called best player of all time.
Don't take this seriously please, yes even you cules
This is a bonus because of the guy at the back, also SHAME on You mou
I will end this post by stating we are more than ready for the new season ahead of us. Whatever happens don't always look at the negatives but look at the bright side of things, it will let you live longer trust me

Re: The Bright Side of España SC El Clasicos
all of the feelings of hope that this post focuses on really hit the target.
im looking forward to this season, dont know though if this season we will only show we can do it and still be work in progress or if we will already legiteimatley be able to go mano a mano for everything.

Re: The Bright Side of España SC El Clasicos
we have so much room for improvements, we should be happy, the final score speaks of how close things are. I hope we take the necessary steps in that direction.

Re: The Bright Side of España SC El Clasicos
I would just like to add getting physical isn't new and brawls have happened many many times throughout the clasicos in time. I'm really surprised how this forum is reacting [see the general section]. Both Madrid and Barca fans pointing at each other arguing who's more classless. This shows they really know nothing about clasicos, this isn't something new. Here is a video for proof even:
I'm not bothered to spread this in the general section but the truth is the clasicos do get to be ugly sometimes. Do I support it? No, but it is a part of this rivalry and part of the game.

Great post H.A.
Real Madrid once again proved that they can attack Barcelona even in their stadium. second half we were all over them, they were trying to keep the result while they couldn't and we scored. and if they hadn't Messi they would've lost it.

Re: The Bright Side of España SC El Clasicos
Fantastic post.
God I missed Hierro and Redondo when that fracas happened. Hierro especially would have set things straight.
As for Jose he poked that guy in the eye (I'm sure there was a reason but he shouldn't have done it) but that dude hit Jose in the back of the head! Like really hard! Jose started it but honestly that guy isn't a poor victim.
Anyway we were set up in a way to out score the opponent, we had our chances but didn't take them like we should have, that's the story of the game. The ref did a decent job as well so no excuses there either. (Although it's frustrating that 50/50 calls almost never go our way but that's a different issue).
This will light a fire in our bellies I feel sorry for Bilbao.

Your biased views on Mou are like one of a disappointed kid.Your toy... Canales wasn't ready to start for Real Madrid. Blame Mou all you want but he wasn't the reason why he was loaned out... :lol!:shaven wrote:

Of course, you wouldn't mention that the guy he poked in the eye hit him in the backhead really hard...

100% Madridista, this was after Benzema's goal. He also wanted to give Villa an unholy beating after that ass slapped Ozil.

He should have snapped that rascist *bleep*, it's rumoured that he called Özil a terrorist (not surprising if he did, busKKKets even said mono and he has black teammates)

I am glad Marcelo did that to Cesc. Put yourself in that position thousands of people being racist towards you I'd take my anger out on someone.

No. What Marcelo did was wrong. No excuse for that.
He lost his cool but he should never let that happen again. No one on this board loves him as much as I do but you can't really justify what he did.
Marcelo is better than that.

I think I deserve the title of being the biggest fan of Marcelo. Loved him even when he sucked at defending.

H.A. - nice post. the overreaction was mostly institagted by that troll Huntsman. Everything he posts is always ridiculous. I don't understand why anyone responds to any of his post.
Re the game finish, Marcelo was an idiot. No excuse for either of his HITS. It turned a fantastic game, from both sides, into a disgrace. I believe Marcelo was simply falling orders from Mou. Mou's attack on Vilanova was a disgrace and worst of all, it was captured on camera so expect another lengthly suspension to both Mou and Marcelo.
