gibbs is a complete joke. injured after every other match (no exaggeration) and goes forward like an idiot but has the nerve to stay forward. theres so many times he's standing in the opponent's box trying to get involved in some link-up play or something but it's completely unnecessary and then there's counter attack down his flank which he cant make it back to defend on... im sick of him

Jenkinson is half Finnish, so I'd like him to do well.

But really, I thought it was obvious that he's not ready to play for Arsenal, not at this level. Very nervous and uncertain of what to do. Hard to tell how's he on the ball because all he did with it was super-safe passes.

Domestic cup matches and maybe a few late sub appearances are what his role should be about this season. Hoping that he'll develop into a good BPL player eventually.

I dont think Jenkinson did anything special today to have this discussion.. He was nervous.. He just stayed back...

Gibbs wasn't that bad. He made some obvious errors, but he wasn't that bad.

Jenkinson was a bit lost, thats true, but I have to say that he barely let anyone run past him. His tackling was spot on, his pace was put to good use, his pressing was effective and he got the job done. In fact, he almost always came out with the ball.
Ever since Jenkinson stepped foot, we were not that troubled defensively because he managed to subdue Isla/Di Natale.

Maybe I'm being biased though

We need a real LB.

i woudl much rather have a defender who DEFENDS and does whats asked of him , thats to have some gung-ho type of defender that thinks he is ronaldo, and doesn't bother to defend. Gibbs is like the pseudo Clichy.... and that is the worst thing you could say to to LB really!

The sooner we gets a LB version of Sagna, the better. on the topic, nervousness aside, i thought he was fairly solid.

the point is that there's no a good LB out there.

If there was a good one liverpool wouldnt have moved for enrique or Man City wouldnt have gone for Clichy.

Song covered Gibbs a lot tonight as he should do, but Gibbs needs to get back quick if he does make a run.

Gibbs didn't even do that badly. Certainly not bad enough for the need to play Jenkinson in his place.

The thing is, Jenkinson has never played in the Premiership and only just made his first appearance in the Champions League. I don't think it'd be wise to throw this guy into the deep end. Blending him in slowly and giving him sub appearance and cup starts would be more productive.
