Juve defeated in Bastos bids

Juventus made two unsuccessful bids for Michel Bastos this summer, the Lyon midfielder has revealed.

The Brazilian has been paired with a switch to Turin for some time, but no agreement could be reached.

"This is what happened,” the South American left-winger told France Football when quizzed on the subject.

“Juventus made two official offers for me, but Lyon didn't accept their bids. That was it.”

Bastos recently committed his future to the French club after he decided to end months of speculation about his future.

"I needed clarity for myself though,” he continued. “I needed to know where I would play in the new season.

“I had enough of all the waiting and made my decision. I am staying at Lyon."
