Hamburg have told Juventus that they have no intention of selling Eljero Elia to them this summer.

The Old Lady have made an offer for the winger, thought to be around €7m, but that bid has been rejected.

“We do not want to sell Elia and we have no need to,” sporting director Frank Arnesen told the club’s website.

“He is a very important player for us, a player who has told us over the last few weeks that he wants to stay here.”

Elia, 24, is a Dutch international who was also linked with the Old Lady a year ago.

It wouldn't surprise me if Hamburg thinks that the current valuation of Elia at 7-10 million is too low and they feel that he could have a better season and bring his value back to where it was during the world cup last year.

Things have been all too quiet on the transfer front. I think Marotta is going to pull off some tricks at the end of the window.
