Besides Russia, Finland, and Scandinavia, South American leagues/championships like Brazil's tournaments also occur from february to december, but that's because in december it's summer over there

Well, yeah it's stupid, I'm also opposed to it, but in this case it's because the WC always happens when the club season is over, in this case December or January.
